Cal burst his way into Peacekeeper's locker room, adjacent to the dormitories. His breath was shallow and rapid, blood covered his clothes and body, some of it his own.
"No good deed..."
Taking a deep breath, he ripped his shirt in half, the fabric slick but yielding. As he hobbled to one of the showers, he noted two dark holes on his torso, one over his lower ribs the other the edge of his abdomen. He hit the water, he flinched as it hit the wounds. The streaming water created a clearer image, the wounds being much more shallow than they appeared. Even so, he didn't look forward to the idea of extracting them himself.

Wren heard water running and entered to find a shirtless Cal rinsing of blood. There were two wounds that Cal was wincing at.
"That fucker! Are you okay? Come here."
Wren looked at the wounds, his eyes met Cal's, and he distracted Cal with a slow kiss as he attempted to pull out the bullets with his fingers

Cal looked up at Wren's voice over the running water. His pain is momentarily interrupted by Wren's choice of wording. While laying in the shower cleaning his bullet wounds, he mouths back to him "Come here??".
As Wren approaches him, his expression softens, his hands around his wounds. Before he can say anything, Wren gave him a slow kiss. It's been a few days now, but he had missed this. Twice his lips stiffened up as Wren extracted the bullets, but he kept his attention on the young lumberjack. Releasing the kiss once the deed was done, the water kept the wounds clean but still flowing.
"There's should be some bandages in a first aid kit around the corner. I'm sorry... that was reckless, but we got the job done. Besides this, I think today went really well. We're among friends, and we're all safe for the time being."

OOC: Anyone else at the Watchtower, please feel free to jump in if you'd like. The locker room isn't actually locked, and I don't think anything more is going to happen here for the time being. We need to figure out our moves, so everyone's welcome.

Sydney heard the gunshot and stepped over the fallen Peacekeeper to see exactly what had happened. "Oh shit, Cal." She didn't crowd but she did bring over the first aid kit to hand to Wren.
"I wish I honestly had something more to help with."

Looking up at Sydney, Cal smiled and nodded.
"Thank you, this will do for now."
He turned the water down to a slow trickle, popping open the first aid kit. These weren't particularly effective supplies, but it'll hold up the bleeding until they can find something substantial. Looking back to Sydney, he remember their last words exchanged.
"This is all part of job, and we're safe now. We should discuss our next move. I believe by the end of the day, Wren, Eloise and I will be traveling. You and Lartius are more than welcome to stay, I trust you'll keep the Watchtower secure and make good use of the supplies."

Wren helped Cal cover and dress his wounds using the supplies Sydney had brought in. Wren looked from his own bandaged arm to Cal's torso.
"Guess we match, now. Sydney, thank you for helping. You've earned my trust. Some of us are planning to meet at the market tomorrow to discuss progress and trade info. I'm considering going, but not set yet. I guess it depends if Syd or Lartius stay here or not. I want to see everyone at the market, but I don't want to over crowd it..."

Sydney looked around the Watchtower and the pair of tributes. She smiled faintly at Cal and Wren. "Well, it's a job well done Cal. And if you need me to stay and hold down the fort, I can do that," she commented, patting the bow that was set on her back. "I just need you to make sure Nelson is, you know, alive. District mates and all that even if he can be a knob."
She smiled over at Wren. "And I you. I can stay here and you can do what you need to, whether that means staying or moving."

Cal smiled, feeling more assured by the passing moments.
"Couldn't have done it without Wren. And I'd be honored to leave the Watchtower in you and Lartius's hands."
He looks around for the phantom tribute, but can't seem to find him. Figures to give a shout anyways.
"You and Eloise kept the point secure with your hacking, you're an ally as far as I'm concerned."
He laughs, shakes his head a little bit, turns his attention back to Sydney.
"Nelson proved his intentions yesterday when he came through here. We gave him as much information as we could and sent him to join up with our allies. I'm sure Wren will make sure he was treated well."
Cal stands up, begins to collect his things, moves over to Wren.
"As for you, I have a favor to ask as well. Please let Val and Gwen know I'm alright, and that they should know why I didn't come to the Market on Day 4. If you need some sort of verification, tell Gwen her I said "Where is my mind"."
He embraces Wren, enjoying his presence and warmth.
"We're going to come back safe, I promise. And thank you, for everything."

Wren hugged Cal back and held him close. "So, you're planning on escorting Eloise, then? I can always count on you to do the noble thing." Wren laughed and kissed Cal's forehead.
"If we do split up, do we need to plan ahead and meet back up day 6 or something? I'm not sold on moving any certain direction yet, but if I head over there, I'll relay your messages."
Wren looked around as he held Cal. "Is Eloise alright with you going with her? I'd hope she can trust you. You're probably a better man than I am." Wren laughed and his smile faded, suddenly realizing the damage he'd done. He killed a man. He wasn't Wren anymore. He felt more like a bird of prey.

"I think she'll have me. Heh, thanks." Cal loved to hear Wren laugh, a rarity these days.
"We can plan to meet back here at the Watchtower on Day 6, figure what the Accord's next move is. I'd suspect splitting into teams, sweeping through the points and securing it for the rebels."
Cal sees Wren's contemplation, the realization is clear across his face. He continues to hold Wren, but draws his head back to face him eye to eye.
"Don't do that to yourself. We both share in that responsibility. You are still Wren, the lumberjack from district 7. I'm Cal, a peacekeeper gone rebel. We're both soldiers now, and that doesn't make us any less. Not while we fight for what we believe to be right."
Cal brings a hand to Wren's cheek, holds tenderly.
"This is just another part of you, like when we came together. You haven't lost a thing."
He smiles, and kisses him gently on the forehead.

Wren smiled as Cal spoke, and sighed.
"I don't know if I can leave anywhere without you. I'm worried I'll fall into a dark place without you there to reassure me. But, I guess I've got to man up and do what needs to be done. I'll hang around here a little longer and coordinate with everyone if you need to get going, I guess. You seem to be in a hurry to get out of here. With peacekeepers patroling the streets, I don't blame you."
Wren looked at the ground. "So..." His eyes met Cal's. "Is this 'goodbye'? Or 'see you soon'? How much longer are you here?"

Cal's eyes had a tear on the edge, but still has a warmth as he holds Wren's gaze.
"See you soon, I'd like to scout ahead for Eloise. I will see you in two days, fate allowing. You are strong, Wren. Take care."
He gives wren a gentle lasting kiss, pulling away slowly into a small smile. Having his things gathered, he waves to everyone present, setting off.

Wren held back tears and forced a smile.
"Did I hear you say 'next fight?!' How about you just stay out of danger, 'kay? Remember, if you'll be mine, then I will fight for you. So, just be smart and stay safe, okay? You're going to need some food. Maybe Eloise will help with that. Don't be reckless like me, okay? Panem needs you to get through this. I need you to get through this."
Wren pulls Cal back for one more quick kiss. "I love you. I'll see you soon."
