Day 3

[Holly Edison]

In the distance, Holly could see the Supply Depot. Finally, maybe there will be something of use in there. It seemed there were several people inside. Holly entered quietly, knowing her companion wouldn't be far behind and settled in. She recognized many of the tributes and was surprised to see some had seemingly broken off from their original groups. Oh, but one of you is entirely new. Wonder who the redhead is...

Taking her bearings she decided to make her presence known. 

"Hello, everyone. If I haven't met you, the name's Holly."

"Sharlot was a part of the group that left for the Watchtower... it's odd that they broke off just one, that was a tight group and well attached to Millie. My guess is they didn't trust her and if that's the case... I'm guessing she's a Peacekeeper."

[Thomas Windsnip]

Thomas looked up and saw Holly walk in to the supply depot. "Hey Holly, long time no see! I take it you and Demetri decided to move along from the market as well."

Thomas then turned to the others, recognizing his district mate, with who he'd barely spoken to. "And I'm Thomas. Nice to meet to you."

[Demetri Messer]

Demetri came in next and stood between Career and Freshman with his assault rifle casually propped over his shoulder.

"Looks like we found the party," he said eyeing all the tributes gathered in the Supply Depot. There were some unfamiliar faces, wild cards. Demetri didn't like that. This encounter could go a lot of ways. "So I don't do names. Who's in charge here? Let's talk."

Demetri whispered to Career, "I have a feeling most of the Peacekeepers are either here or in the Hospital. The intimidation thing worked pretty well back there, huh? There were definitely Peacekeepers there and they all were too afraid to hack against us. You wanna try it this time? It's sexy when you take control."

[Holly Edison]

"Looks like no one feels like being friendly at the moment. Too bad, Demetri."

Holly stifled a laugh at Demetri's comments. "Yeah, I'm sure you'd enjoy it. And I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't either! But this is a larger group and we don't know any of them. If Harlie and Lucan are Peacekeepers... we're way outnumbered. And if I'm right about Sharlot she's already going to be on defense just knowing we were allied with the group she's left. Let's try to catch some flies with honey." Nodding her head quickly to Thomas' direction she added, "What do you think of the kid. He's a tribute right? Seems kind of useless but there's safety in numbers. Should we keep him around on our way back?"

[Demetri Messer]

"That's all right," Demetri replied to Career. "We'll set up camp and if anyone wants to come chat, they'll find us."

Demetri found an empty storage unit where they could set down their supplies and relax for a moment. They had been on the move since they escaped from the training center and it felt good to finally sit down. He patted the ground next to him signaling for Career to come sit.

"What would it take to get a backrub, Career? Carrying those guns gets heavy after a while." 

Then Demetri turned to the other tribute, "Hey Freshman, are you armed?"

"Freshman seems harmless. Pretty sure he's a rebel and if not he's too conservative to try anything. And I don't think any of them have been to the armory, so we still have an edge no matter how many there are. If we show we have guns they'll all back down because they'll be more willing to concede one point than die early."

Demetri whispered to Freshman. "Even if you're not armed, you should tell them you are. It'll help us take the Command Point."

[Holly Edison]

Holly followed Demetri and removed the gun from her waistband, setting it down by her side. "Demetri, dear nothing in life is free if you want a backrub you'll have to pay for it." Holly wiggled her shoulders and raised an eyebrow. "You're not the only one with sore shoulders."

"Demetri, dear nothing in life is free if you want anything in life you'll have to pay for it." Holly wiggled her shoulders and raised an eyebrow. "You're not the only one with sore shoulders." Holly relaxed.

Holly looked at Thomas and motioned for him to come over. "Kid, what are your strengths? You're young, but everyone is good at something."

"I gave looking for the energy pill a try, I don't think I found it. Let's bring Thomas in and coordinate our rolls. I, at least want to confirm Sharlot is a Peacekeeper. What do you think? Have you found anything yet?" (demetri, holly)

Demetri turned to the other tribute, "Hey Freshman, are you armed?"

"Yeah! I snagged a bow on day one." He noticed that none of the other tributes were talking, Thomas turned to them. "Not very talkative, are you guys?" There were a lot of people here, far more than the market, but it seemed like it was only him, Demetri, and Holly.

[Demetri Messer]

"I could use some food soon, so I'll spend at least one action on that. And I'll spy on Harlie because I know the least about her. Holly is going for the Energy Pill and spying on Sharlot."

"Freshman, if you want to roll with us you'll have to make yourself useful. It'd be huge if you could hack and spy on the others for us and we can all share info. Let's make sure we don't overlap on any actions."

As Career settled into their makeshift shelter, Demetri offered a tour of the storage unit by gesturing with his arm. "So this is the living room. I'm thinking of putting a TV right in the middle here. The kitchen's over there," he pointed to the lone pastry he had found in the market. "I'm getting plumbers in here tomorrow, so for now if you have to take a shit, do it outside."

Demetri began to gently rub her shoulders. "I'd say our shopping date at the Armory went pretty well. We make a pretty good team. What do you think? Second date?"

He subtly planted a light beardly kiss on the back of her neck.

Thomas watched as the older boy put the moves on Holly. "Dude. Teach me your ways!"

Thomas looked around at the others. "How long have you guys been at this place?"

Thomas suddenly realized that Demetri had been whispering to him. "I do in fact actually have a bow. I'll hack, and then hopefully either go for the 2nd food and recording device or spy (on someone other than Harlie), that way we don't overlap on much. I don't know much about Harlie, even though she's may district mate, other than that she's a bit of birth, she insulted my hair!"

Holly was getting annoyed at the silence of all the others. Fuck it, our group can have all the fun then.

Holly smiled. "Pretty nice place, throw some paint on the walls, a few curtains - home, sweet home!"

"I'll definitely know what Sharlot is up to in a few hours. No luck finding anything I could use, though. Hopefully, Thomas will have done well spying and hacking. Any updates, boys?" Holly thought a moment and added, "If you have time, try to get the recording device. I'm the best spy we have but I'm only +1, give it to me and it ups our chances considerably."

"Not a bad place at all." He, Demtri, and Holly had faired well last night and managed to gather up all the food items for themselves. Thomas was confused as to why the others weren't talking. He had seen his district mate try to gather some food, at which she failed miserably.

He turned to Demetri and Holly, as they seemed to be the only ones interested in talking. "Do you think you'll keep moving or stay here another day?"

"Did either of you learn about the allegiances of the others?"

[Holly Edison]

Holly thought for a moment, they'd been running a long time. "Not sure yet, we had a loose plan. You thinking of tagging along with us wherever we end up? I like you, kid."

"I found out some things about Sharlot - she's a Peacekeeper and she's already been attacked by someone. Looks like she's been hit a couple times (6/8 HP). I think she's headed for the Armory. I don't know if Dante is still there, he'd back her up I think... but if we move back there and all gang up on her we can take her out. The plan was to go to the Armory next and meet up at the Market with the others. I say we wait to see what movements she makes and decide then, deciding (and posting) our movement once we see where she is going. What did you guys find out?"

Holly looked at Thomas and motioned for him to come over. "Kid, what are your strengths? You're young, but everyone is good at something."

Thomas looked at Holly. "Yeah, I like you guys too. I'd love to tag along."

OOC: Yeah, I royally screwed up the username, thanks for resending. 

"I bet Sharlot got hurt from hacking. I out hacked her last night so she probably took a damage for that, and maybe someone else out hacked her as well. I've increased my spy skills to +1 from leveling up and getting the recording device! Scavenging is still my best area. Your plan sounds good to me. Do we know that Dante is a peace keeper? I tried to spy on him but it really didn't work out."

Sharlot followed the voices to a storage unit where three tributes had set up camp. Everyone seemed to be glaring at her, so she decided to keep her appearance brief. She left a post-it note by the entrance and cautiously took a step back to see their reaction.

Sorry, but I had no choice. The Phoenix Accord fell apart. The agreement to stick together and not attack the supporters did not hold up once we got out in the Capitol. They attacked me and stole my equipment so I had to run. If any of you are Peacekeepers supporting the Accord's cause, they will turn on you too.

Holly had a stern face, she knew it. Everyone always thinks I'm pissed, no point jumping to conclusions just yet. She stood and collected the post-it note Sharlot had clearly meant for them and brought it to the others.

"Sharlot may just be attempting to throw us off. I'm going to see if I can get any more information from her - see if whatever story she has adds up. Keep an eye out for inconsistencies. She already said the Accord fell apart... but she's clearly now hacking for the Peaekeepers so I'm not buying what she's selling for now. She's still an enemy based on her behavior so far."

Making an effort she gave a small smile towards Sharlot and beckoned her closer.

"That's awful. I was hoping we'd all stick together and make it out of this. I don't take well to traitors and liars - and they'd be top of my list for betraying you without reason, who attacked you? Thomas and Demetri are with me, you're safe here." 

[Demetri Messer]

Demetri picked up his assault rifle when Avox appeared, but upon reading the note lowered it. He glared at her, trying to get a read on her.

As much as I hate Peacekeepers, I hate backstabbers even more. So if what Avox says is true then I can relate. I would do the same thing. And Career's report that Avox is already injured matches up with the story. And Sharlot's friends from the training days were in the Market, but she got stuck going to the Watchtower with the rebels she didn't know as well. It could have been a misunderstanding or lack of trust as well. Anyway I can't help feeling sorry for her.

Also I spied another Peacekeeper as well. But she seems quiet and usless and not much of a threat. I think we should go back to the Armory. The Hospital is useless right now and the Supply Depot is pretty boring and I don't care for any of these useless items. I'd rather stock up on guns and take out those other Peacekeepers we found.

[Sharlot Cuprick]

Holly beckoned for Sharlot to come closer, but Sharlot shook her head no. Then she scribbled another note and left it on the ground where she stood and ran off.

"I think Gwendolyn has been spreading misinformation about me to turn the others against me. I don't know if she just doesn't trust Peacekeepers or the only other thing I can think of is that I had rejected her advances on me. I hate that it had to turn out this way, but I have no choice but to fight for the Peacekeepers now. You guys seem really nice and I appreciate the gesture, but for all I know you guys were part of the plan to betray the Peacekeepers who were just trying to help you. I can't be part of the Phoenix Accord with so much disloyalty among your friends. I'd think twice about who you put your trust in. Good luck to you all."

Collecting the note Sharlot had left before running off, Holly retreated to her group to relay the message. Looking back, she caught Sharlot's eye and nodded. Tough spot, sweetheart.

"I don't buy it. We know Gwen, she's not likely to turn on someone just because they rebuff her. She'd just move on to the next romantic target on her list. I'd trust Valeria - even though she's a Peacekeeper - with my life, and Gwen and Valeria are travelling together as far as we know. I think Valeria's in it for the rebels, even if she loses hers along the way. We KNOW that group. She was also with another Peacekeeper at the Watchtower, Cal - if she couldn't make friends there..."

Holly leaned back against the wall and slid down to sit. "Demetri, be careful of feeling sorry for scorpions with a sob story. If she was betrayed, she's fighting for the Peacekeepers now and that makes her our enemy. And I simply don't believe her story. I know everyone who was with her, you know most of them I think. I don't buy it. She's injured, and fighting against us no matter the circumstance that brought her there."

Taking a moment to look Demetri and Thomas each in the eye she continued.

"We have an opportunity. We need to kill her."

[Sharlot Cuprick]

Sharlot realized she had forgotten something and left one more note.

"And in case you don't believe me, just ask Wren and Eloise who started the conversation about the rebellion and getting everyone to work together. This whole alliance stemmed from the things I wrote on the board in Millie's hideout in the library. And ask if anyone has a spare token and you'll see your friends stole that from me too."

Holly hurried to the door and grabbed Sharlot's arm before she could leave. 

"Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. You said someone stole your token. Who?"

Sharlot pulled her arm out of Holly's grip and took her hand, turning it palm upwards. Using her index finger she wrote three letters "CAL"

Holly let her go. Interesting. 

"I think Cal is a Peacekeeper though I don't have much proof... just a feeling, if she wasn't working against them it doesn't make sense that he would turn on her. Either he'd have been on her side against the Accord and most likely be travelling with her or he'd be on the Accord's side, and assaulting her - assuming she was hacking and working against them - would make sense. If he's a double agent in some way, there are better ways to betray her and not have to injure her as well. Then again, if Cal did attack her, it would have been days ago. From here it's a two day walk to the Watchtower. So, he is himself working to undermine the Accord... or he knew she was a Peacekeeper and didn't trust her from the start. But again, as far as I'm concerned this changes nothing until we are face to face with Cal. She admitted she is not on our side - we shouldn't give her the opportunity to heal her wounds and keep working against us when we have this chance."
