Talia pads softly through the halls of the District Rooms outside the common area, her eyes raised toward the soft lights overhead.
"Dolan hails from Twelve, and adores pastries." She whispers to herself, counting her fellow tributes off on her fingers.
"Harmony is from Four, and disapproves of..."
Her voice trails off as her face contorts into a frown. Finally, she sighs.
"It will be easier to recall everyone when the games thin out the field."
Her footsteps echo softly down the empty corridor as she starts again.
"Decimus is a native of One, and appreciates weight-lifting. Sophie is a resident of Five and..."
Talia's whisper trails off as the elevator near the end of the hall dings, announcing its arrival.

Derrin had just finished up weightlifting again and knew that it was probably his last time in the room. Their training days were roughly going to begin soon and he needed to figure out what he was going to do during those, he also felt like he should at least consider trying to speak to Kimber again after their fight.
As the elevator opened up he saw the girl from three. She seemed to be walking around as if she was deep in thought. While he had a towel on he really wished his shirt was on and tank god his mentor never told him to remove more than his shirt in the common areas…it was another girl, which made this a little more awkward…eff him right?
He put on a rather large smile and walked confidently down the hallway. He waved to her and said, “Miss Zinten! Awesome job at the Parade, you completely blew all of us out of the water. That was really impressive. I thought my plan was great but sadly it did not involve my other district mate and killed my chances of first, but third was not bad at all.”
He stopped talking when he got closer to her and rubbed the back of his head, “Any chance I could get any tips from you in the future at some point?”
He hoped she caught it as genuine. He was not making fun or her or intimidating her. At least he hoped that was not how he felt. Derrin blushed slightly and said, “Sorry, sorry I forgot since this our actual first meeting, My name, though I am sure you know it is Derrin Verittia of District six. Pleasure to meet you.”
He then held out his hand to shake hers. She could accept or decline but either way he was trying to be friendly.

Alys meandered through the halls alone. She regretted not making an effort to get to know the other tributes up until with point. Though introverted by nature, Alys realized that if she wanted to have a chance at survival, she needed to exert herself. She stood in the hall, waiting for another tribute to walk by, hoping to at least engage in conversation.

William rounds a corner, his eyes darting from door to door as if looking for something... "Hey, you!" He shouts down at the only person, "you havent seen Dolan around or the boy from district 6, have you?"

Alys was glad to see another tribute, recognizing him as the boy from district 4. "No I haven't. You're from district 4, right? I overheard you playing your whistle the other day, it was beautiful. My name's Alys, what's yours?"
She hoped her rambling would not be construed as a sign of weakness, but she was nervous, she was only 12 after all.

Hearing the 'no' he starts to turn back to his search, but thinks better of it, "William. I'm William Mandela, and thanks, that song kinda means a lot to me I'm glad I can do it justice." he said. Secretly he was always a little embarrassed by public performing, but "the show must go on" he told himself. "Well you're his suitemate, do you have any idea where he might be? I need to talk to him about some things"

Derrin's hand swallowed up Talia's as they clasped.
"It is wonderful to see you again, Derrin! We did not fraternize earlier in the mess hall as thoroughly as I would prefer." Talia bubbles, her eyes rising to meet Derrin's.
"The exploits at the chariot presentation were due entirely to my partner Quinn's handiwork; though I appreciate the increase in our regard.
Your appeal for consultation in future expositions would benefit us both, provided we shared in a mutual pact of... Erm.."
Talia's exasperated sigh echoes off the sterile walls.
"I will team with you if you do not try to kill me first. Deal?"
The seemingly wispy hand shoots forward to clasp again, Talia's eyes searching for Derrin's reaction.

She had mentioned how she had seen him before and remembered him quite clearly. He blinked a few times in surprised. Well now that, it was taken care of. She knew him and he knew her. She also mentioned that she had wanted to speak with him more thoroughly. This caused him to blush a little and put a hand behind his head and laugh. Weird that a girl wanted to speak to him, though it probably meant something other than what first ran through his mind.
She admitted that her partner had actually set everything up and as such led them to a thrilling victory. Derrin nodded to himself and then remembered that he ought to speak to him then. She still accepted his thanks and with that he gave her a smile and a nod thanking her for at least accepting what he said.
Suddenly she said that his consultation of something or nothing and then mutual pack…Derrin was totally lost until then she decided to come straight forward and asked him to join in an alliance with him. Derrin was both shocked and immediately drew a little bit of concern. So fast…either she was desperate or he had done something she or Quinn liked…
He was alarmed but knew that in the end, this was defiantly not the place to talk about such things. As he noticed some people down the hallway a bit.
She was looking at him intently and her hands shot out. He lowered his face to her ear and said, “I’ll set up a private thing. We will discuss if this would be profitable for both me and you…and whomever else this would involve.”
He removed himself from her and placed a hand on this head and smiled, he looked down the hallway and said it a little louder, “No, no thank you but I cannot sign autographs.” He winked to her and then started to whistle as he walked back to his common room. Talia huh…?

Alys called out to William. "I know he's around, I just saw him in my room. We were both hoping to talk to you. I know you're a tremendous swimmer, and we were wondering if you could teach us a few strokes during the second training day!"

'We will discuss if this would be profitable for both me and you…and whomever else this would involve.'
Derrin's hurried whispers resounded in Talia's mind as the tall adolescent strolled away.
'He was right,' she reflected. 'I am going to need more allies to rely on in the field. Only a handful of victors in previous Hunger Games had been solo the entire time.'
Peering down another corridor, Talia encountered Alys as she was calling something out to William.
"Oh, hello again Alys! It is exciting to be fraternizing with a multitude of people from different disctricts, if not under the most ideal circumstances."
Talia's wispy hands sported fresh calluses from the day's training efforts as she fingered the fringes of her sleeves awkwardly.
"You are from District 12, correct? Our districts share the same Capitol-Aid Food trucks to support the hungry; at least according to the graffiti sprayed onto their sides.
What is it like back home?"

"Move! Move! Move!" yelled the boy from District 2, shoving tributes aside as he sprinted through the hallway. Peace keepers emerged on either end of the hallway, trapping him in the corridor. "All right, guys. A little help here. Anybody? No? Whose side are you guys on anyway!" The peace keepers converge on him and Jaden can hardly put up a fight before the peace keepers subdue him and beat him.
"Whoa hey, avoid the face," one of the peace keepers says after Jaden takes a hit to the left eye. "This kid needs to be camera ready, and he won't be skipping any more events."

Alys was startled by the sudden comeuppance of Quin and Jaden running through the hallway.
She collected herself and responded to Talia. "It's not bad, not much food to speak of but we do the best we can. The Capitol-Aid food truck is nice, but we're all hungry. There's never enough food to go around. There are so nice qualities though, such as the surrounding mountains, I enjoy hiking through them."
It was nice to talk about something other than the game for once, though Alys knew that forming friendships was dangerous, far more dangerous than alliances, for they would only end in tragedy.

Millie walked through the halls scanning the surroundings "Geeze," she thought to herself, "how hard is it to find one guy."
Millie looked at the note in her hand. "Baldwin," she said to herself, "where is this guy?"

"Oh Nayalya," she said brightly, "I was hoping I would run into you!" "I was looking for Baldwin but I'm sure he'll be able to find me."
"If you want to talk I can meet you in the green house. It was pretty full earlier but I think it would be pretty private now," Millie gave her a smile, "I'll meet you there. I'm going to do one last sweep for Baldwin"

Light tappings of Talia's shoes announced her approach across the tiled floor of the pristine hallway.
"Millie! How fortuitous to have encountered you here. I must be brief as today's training has left me exhausted."
Talia leans her svelte frame against the hallway wall, wincing as the days bruises catch up to her.
"I was hoping to speak privately with you, about an urgent topic."
District Three's tribute smiles to herself.
"Though at this juncture so close to the Games, what is not 'urgent' these days?"

Millie glanced at the name of the tribute she was trying to find and then moved her eyes to the other tribute going ahead to the green house to wait for her.
"I seem to be quite popular today," she said to herself. "So what's up?" She said informally In an attempt to counterbalance the tributes verbose manner of speech? "Can we talk here or did you have somewhere else in mind?"

"Your increased popularity undoubtedly stems from your demonstration with Decimus this morning. Which pertains to my topic..."
Talia draws a worn notebook from her coat sleeve and flicks through its pages.
"We can discuss nuances privately, though I can infer how you may be relying on the skills of a nearby district to watch the backs of Decimus and yourself. I can offer this companionship a valuable commodity in both food gathering skills, and the favor of sponsors.
If you are interested, I am sure you know how to locate me."
Talia's slender arms stretched as her mouth was enveloped in a yawn.
"It has been pleasant talking with you, Millie. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow."

William sat in a chair outside the district 4 doors, his knees brought up to his chest. The pensive look on his face morphs into remorse, sadness, and a half-dozen other emotions. He heard Millie and Talia talking down the hall and knew it was only a matter of time before she headed his way.
("Man up, dammit! Grow a fucking pair and just do it! Take initiative! What's the worst that happens, she kills you? You'll be dead in a few days anyway and she'll probably be the one to do it.") "This isn't helping..." he mutters to himself. He stands, and strides over to where he knows she is. He gets a few paces out and his knees begin to wobble, his head feels lighter and heavier at the same time, and he sees stars. The feeling in the pit of his cant be ignored and he slinks back to his chair.
"Coward."

As Quinn exits his room he sees Talia walking away from Millie and William sitting by his door. He smiles and nods towards William and heads to Millie. Quinn puts a hand on her shoulder and looks down the hall.
"Hey, I wanna talk to you about something...it's kind of really important. Would you mind joining me in a private room? If you have time that is. I would hate to bother you."

Woah! Millie was on the small side but because she had spent so much time in strength training back in District One she wasn't used to people just pulling her around. "He just caught me off guard," she thought to herself.
She felt herself being pulled into a private room. "I really hope he just wants to talk," she thought as she was whisked away.
