Cal walks into the Rose Garden, a new area of the complex for him. He's glad to find it relatively deserted, takes a seat on the bench. The roses seem to glow with the field of stars and moon shining overhead, creating a mystic atmosphere, right out of play.
I may have made some enemies there, at the very least alienated some tributes. I'd rather they know why I fight rather than second-guess, though.
He lays on his back, his eyes looking up to the stars.
"If anyone is curious, they'll know where to find me. At least the view will be pleasant."

Unable to sleep, Sharlot headed to the Rose Garden. She couldn't stop thinking about Tarmo. The first Hunger Games would have been very different if she had been in control. If she hadn't hesitated. She shook her head. She had been watching way too many clips of him in the Media Library. She plopped down next to Cal, who seemed to also be deep in thought. She waved and smiled at him. After a moment she grabbed Cal's hand and with her other hand she wrote letters in his palm. SAMETEAM

Wallace wandered into the Rose Garden in search of Solace from his hotel room and the rest of the games. Only to find Cal and Sharlot sitting next to one another, his hand in hers. Wallace swallowed hard and cleared his throat to make himself known.
"I... I hope I'm not interrupting anything". he said, keeping his voice steady. His eyes were cast downward but then a thought entered his head, his eyes searched for Cals.
"I don't think we've met Cal... I'm Wallace, from district 6." Wallace paused thoughtful for a moment.

Cal smiles, glad to have some company. He leans in closer to Sharlot, his eyes up in the stars. "Agreed, and I intend to protect everyone who honors the Accord."
Hearing Wallace, he turns to face him. His smile becomes a grin as his eyes settle on the young man. "Not at all Wallace, please join us. This is a view worth sharing." He stands up to meet him, extends his hand. "The name's Cal, district 12. I'm glad we could meet before tomorrow morning."

Cal freezes up, and thinks for a moment. He retracts his hand slightly. "Sorry Wallace, one moment. Please, join us." He takes a seat next to Sharlot, his gaze returning to the roses, his face calm and collected. "Which team do you mean?" "No use standing around, this may be our last chance at good furniture."

Wren couldn't sleep, so he followed Cal back out to the rose garden, leaving some distance between them. He needed time to think after everything. When he stepped out, he noticed Cal and Sharlot talking, and saw Wallace walk up. I'm still not sold on him...but I do owe Sharlot an apology...why are they sitting so close?Wren plopped down on the other side of Cal, about as close as he had been sitting to Sharlot. "Hey um...Sharlot. I owe you an apology. Look, I've been pacing around all day trying to wrap my head around the whispers everywhere and why so many people head down to the loading docks and I saw you hand something to Wallace. That was just sorta the last little thing that pushed me over the edge. I'm so sorry. It won't happen again." Wren turned to face Wallace. "And I'm sorry for not trusting you. I'm just slow to trust new people, given my background. And things are getting crazy tonight. First we feared losing Millie as our mentor, then those intimidating girls were demanding information that wasn't technically mine to give, and then I saw Sharlot pass you something. I'm sure you could understand the need to be cautious. You yourself warned me about a kid getting poisoned by an ally. So...are we good?" Wren stuck out a hand, hoping for a peace shake. Wren leaned in to Cal. "And you were right. The roses do look amazing out here at this time of night. I'm almost regretting sulking in the hallway and my room, but it did help clear my head a bit." "The roses do look amazing out here at this time of night....So do you."

((after Sharlot & Wallace respond, Wren will excuse himself and leave you three in privacy. He just needed to talk to you together))
"I'll see you guys around."

Cal smiles, the merry band grows by the minute. "Good of you come out, Wren. Told you it was worth it." "Your timing is both endearing and maddening. We'll talk later." He quietly listened to the woodsman's words, approving the outreach. Its too early for bridges to be burning. His smile fades to contentment, returning his attention to their surroundings.

Wren extended his hand to Sharlot. Sharlot grabbed it and immediately started writing letters on his palm with her finger. "WHATINFORMATION?" Then she leaned back and put her hand on the small of Cal's back. So that no one else could see, she spelled the following letters on Cal's back.
"THETEAMTHATMATTERS"

Wren leaned behind Cal to whisper to Sharlot. He noticed her hand, close to where he nearly set his own hand. What's going on here? They demanded to know what the group's goal is. Holly said she was interested but needed more info & that trust goes two ways. So I basically just told her yes there's an accord. No one dies. etc. Gwen did the same, but seemed less hesitant. She sounded like she had wanted an accord but didn't think it would happen. I guess she heard Millie & Vester talking about the alcove and put two and two together. Gwen straight up asked me about an accord & I freaked, because I didn't know who had used those words to her. So that was part of my paranoia. Sorry. Also, I like Cal. I guess. Hope that's alright with our accord. I'll protect everyone equally, though.

Cal jumps slightly forward as Sharlot places her hand on his back. With her hand there, and her other arm extended around his front to meet Wren's, he settles backwords, listening to the conversation in front of him.
He looks over at Wallace and shrugs, not sure what else to do at this point.

When Wren leans behind him, Cal leans forward again. He looks up at Wallace.
"So did you have any good hobbies back in your district?"

As the announcement echoes through the garden, the context of his situation dawns on Cal. His eyes grow focused, his smile faded. "Where do I meet the others?"

Wallace held a hand out to Cal but it was quickly withdrawn to return to the seats they had. Wallace shrugged and followed him over
Wallace watched everything happening in silence until he was addressed by Wren, he took his hand and shook it with a shrug. "It's hard to trust anything under these circumstances. But sometimes it's just not worth letting these games get to you Wren." Wallace sighed contently "Sometimes you just have to accept whats happening even if you've done everything you can."
Wallace gave everyone a knowing smile.
Cal asked him if he had any hobbies. "Well, I used to work on the hovercrafts with my dad back in District 6. It was a great way to spend time when I wasn't at school". Wallace pulled the gear out of his pocket. "This is from one of the hovercrafts I was working on when I was back home. It was someth-". Wallace was cut off by the announcement.
He looked at Cal and the others, the color drained from his face.
"What's going on...?"

A peacekeeper holding a handgun enters the garden.
"All right kids, let's move. I need to get you all back to your hotel rooms."
The peacekeeper grabs Wallace by the arm and pulls him to his feet.

Before running off, Wren takes something from inside his boot and shoves it into Cal's hand. He gives him a look that doesn't require words and sprints inside. It's a bracelet made of redwood twigs, intertwined and braided. He scribbled a note to wrap around it, while running between their hotel room and the garden. "If separated, just survive. Tell me where you're going once you decide. I'll tell you, too. So we know. I'll do what I can to help you. Remember, No one dies. All my love, Wren."

Cal pocket's the something and watches Wren run off. Taking a deep breath, he slams his body into the peacekeeper and grabs a hold of his firing arm, pushing it away from the tributes. "Wallace get the fuck out of here!" After Wallace is out of sight, he pushes himself away from the peacekeeper, kneels to the ground with his hands behind his head. "I need orders from Vester."

Wallace yelps as he is grabbed by his arm roughly and dragged to his feet by the peacekeeper. "Get off me you dick!" Wallace tugs hard against the peacekeepers hard grip on him. Suddenly the peacekeeper is knocked aside by Cal who throws his weight against him.
"Damn it Cal" Wallace growled, but he grit his teeth and heeded his words taking off through a nearby door.

If you need to talk to Vester, he's on the roof. I'll tell him you're coming. "The garden's closed!" The Peacekeeper announced shutting the gate behind the tributes.
