The food didn't particularly taste great by any means, as if the ingredients had been refrigerated for days maybe even weeks. They certainly weren't "fresh" but who was she to be picky, it sure as hell beat going hungry! Nonetheless, Reese felt like causing a scene on what could potentially be one of her last days standing...
"Yo, this shit you're feeding us... it's rotten! This bread is fucking moldy. Doesn't do anyone any good if we've all got food poisoning or worse yet one of us croaks before we even make it to the arena." The poor cafeteria worker was startled and looked over at Reese's tray of food. "Look closer, you don't see that right there? That's mold! Do you eat mold?"
The cafeteria looked again at the tray of food dumbfounded before returning her gaze to Reese. "Uh..."
Raising her voice, "Uh... uh... that's right you don't eat mold! Or maybe you do and that's how it got on everyone's food! Fuck outta here."
Then without saying another word she stood up and left, leaving the tray of half-eaten food on the table and a bewildered cafeteria attendant to clean it up.

Agni strolled down the hallways on his way to yet another interview. Each year the Capitol became ravenous for opinions on how the games would shake out; especially from someone who had been there before.
Reese's yell preceded her appearance in the hall; it was hard for Agni to not notice how upset she looked.
"Howdy there, Ms. Oberron! Are you complainin' 'bout the food? I know it's nothin' like back home in Eleven, but it can be edible..." He leaned closer to the younger Tribute.
"...if you're avoidin' the Camembert bread. Chef's always sayin' how the mold's baked outta the bread; but I still taste it." The District 11 Victor shuddered.
"But onto pressin' matters: You got my attention in there with yer trainin' days. I'd love to see anoth'r victor from Eleven; and I'm guessin' Mr. Luxor ain't stepped out from his room yet.
Doesn't matter, jus' do your best to make friends out there; watch their backs 'nd they'll watch yours. I'm pullin' for ya, Ms. Oberron!" He smiled at the young woman.

Wren passed Reese as she darted out of the cafeteria. Strange. Then he spotted a past victor that he recognized from the footage in the media library.
"Oh hey, you're Agni Sparks, right? I don't think we've met yet. I'm Wren." Wren shook Agni's hand. "So what's it like being a victor? Does it change everything?"

"Coming from you that means an awful lot. Making friends hasn't been easy, but having a watchful eye from someone we've all looked up to goes a long way! I won't let you down."
