Wren had wandered over to a new corner of the gym. There was an obstacle course set up, with sets of ankle bracelets with blinking lights, laid out in pairs. This looks interesting...Wren walked up to the two instructors, who appeared to be twins. The male instructor asked him, "Got a partner you want to work with? Slap a bracelet on and work together to get through the course!" The female took over then, "Only, if one of you gets hit or stuck, the other can't move on alone."
Wren stood aside to get a full side view of the course..
1. Jump over rocks in a pond with steaming, bubbling water 2. Climb a rock wall with hologram arrows shot at you 3. Swing on a rope onto the landing, but not too far because there appears to be a forcefield at some point 4. Outrun hologram mutts while hurdling various obstacles 5. Each partner must hit their bullseye with a weapon of choice to finish
Wren was intrigued.

He kept walking through the gym, but kept an eye out for potential partners. Eloise, try it out?

Eloise saw Wren walking over to the instructors at the team work station. She knew at some point she would have to start actively socializing.
"Need a partner?"

He thought of something that should be useful..."Let's make sure we stay right across from each other, like side by side at an even pace; that way if one of us slips, the other can quickly grab on and help." He noticed there were some plants around the course as well. "And I recognize those medicinal leaves, so if you get a cut I'll be able to heal it real quick and we can keep moving." Wren knew there was no real risk with the holograms, but the instructors had told him to consider all things realistically, because it would affect the team's outcome.

"Great. We'll tether your left and my right hands together so we each still have our dominant hand free. If at all possible we should only have one person jump at a time so they have a steady base if they need help balancing."

Wren didn't realize they would actually be tethered together. He just thought a buzzer would go off when they got too far apart. But he was up for trying anything. "Sounds good!"
He stepped up to the starting line. The lights flashed...

(OOC: I'm thinking an attack role per round, maybe tactics if we need to rethink/save each other somehow. Take an average of our combined rolls to determine success?)
The buzzer went off, and Wren carefully leaped onto the first stone. The water around him hissed. I'm not sure what that is, but I'm fairly sure we shouldn't touch it... He and Eloise tried to make their way across all the stones...

After leaping from rock to rock Eloise and Wren came to the rock wall. Arrows periodically shot horizontally as they climbed higher. As long as the moved fast enough, they wouldn't be an issue. They even used their tether to hook on to hand holds they couldn't otherwise reach.

Wren noticed they had an audience, and tried not to let that shake his confidence. He and Eloise were doing really well, considering coordinating this as a team could have been much more difficult. He remembered Minerva from the feast, and had hoped for a chance to talk to her sometime before the Games began.
He decided to just wrap his arms around Eloise and grab ahold of the rope...If it timed it right, they'd land without hitting the forecefield...

They wobbled as they landed but weren't close to hitting the force field. As the pair landed an arrow flashed on the force field in front of them lighting up a pathway to the right. Immediately the sound of dogs barking filled the training area.
"Come on!" Eloise yelled as she and Wren started to run.

Aha! Wren spotted a loose area in the soil. That's a trap. If they timed it right, they could just barely step onto it, jump over with the other foot, and the mutts would fall into the pit below.
The hologram mutts dissolved as the ground opened below them. As soon as they made their landing, Wren set Eloise down. "We're almost there!"

As Eloise and Wren made it to the last station, her heart was pounding. She knew she had to clear her head before she tried to take a shot at the target. But what should she use? She hadn't tried the bow and arrow before.

THWACK! The axe shattered the target, and their tethered bracelets snapped open. An automated voice came over the speakers, "Course complete."
Wren beamed at Eloise. "Nice work!"
As they celebrated, he remembered Minerva was watching. "Hey, Minerva. How's your training going?"

Best case scenario, she made a friend, worst case she got some time to rest. Thomas wandered in to the gym. He saw Wren and Eloise doing some mad practicing. He found it interesting how many of the tributes were eager to show everyone their strengths and weaknesses. He caught a glimpse of Minerva. "Need a partner?" He extended a fist hoping for a bump.
