A miniature rock slide had injured Dante's model on the field. He hoped the other two member of his team wouldn't just leave him, or worse...
Keeping their pleasant smiles, they picked him up and made a show of brushing off the dirt from the rock slide. Dante's row of red hearts returned to full.
Close one there, gotta remember to think of all the possibilities.
His team continued on, foraging for food.

"Yes!" Dante whispered, a bounty of food left from the cornucopia had been picked up by his team.
Now time to stay hidden until the others are worn out from hunger.

His face flushing, he takes a seat at the table with Dante.
"Thanks." he replies to Val. If the suits aren't needed for these games, why were they stocked here?
Taking a look at the board, Cal reviewed the initial settings of the game.
Three tributes, huh? They're pretty generous with their odds.
Matching up their stats to tasks, he deploys one tribute as a scout, quietly observing for approaching opponents. The other two begin to fashion scrounge for food and fashion whatever weapons they can from nearby equipment.
Finding a generous bit of luck, he commands his scout to grab the nearby weapon cache.

After a few seconds, his little scout had picked up a handful of weapons, even a bow! Cal did seeming ease of obtaining these weapons to be suspicious, but surely a trap would have been sprung by now. Ordering his tributes back together, he distributes the weapons among them.
With a sizable food supply and weapons, it was time to dig in. After a few minutes his team comes upon a high vantage point with only two easy to navigate approaches. Ordering his food cache to the top while having his other two looking over both entrances, they were set to fight off oncoming assaults.

"Alright, it looks like there's a small higher ground to the northeast of the map," she addressed the cyber general of her troops.
"If we can take that point and fortify it we should have an upper hand on the rest of the troops," she continued. Val grinned and stroked a sleek looking sniper riffle.
"If I'm reading the map accurately we should be able to have at least a slight vantage on all the other troops," she grinned, "the we just sit back and let them fight amongst themselves. I don't really relish the thought of shooting any of my friends so hopefully I won't have to if this pans out."

As the food stash is secured, one of the scouts note movement approaching from the southwest.
"If this is an assault, I may have the drop on them." speaks softly, bringing his two guards to cover the southwest approach. For his personal tribute, he orders him to grab a small stash of food from the supply and quietly approach down the other hillside. Even if his guards don't succeed, he won't be completely out of the game.

The entire map lay out before Val and her troops. Spread beneath her she watched as her friends armies tried to take each other out.
"Please don't let them see me up here," she thought. Val knew some of them were a lot more physically gifted than she was and she didn't know how long she would last in a direct fight.
So far her plan was working. Valeria ordered her troops to set up a basic camouflage around the top of the high point she was occupying.
This was a battle and if push came to shove she'd shoot. Didn't mean she wouldn't feel guilty. But she'd shoot.
"Lay out a series of traps surrounding this point," she ordered a nearby troop.
"Maybe they'd end up taking themselves out..."

OOC: Sorry Val, I thought we were on the same hill
IC: Finding no contact as minutes drain by, he orders his troops on the hill to advance down and attack any threat they encounter, encircling his lone survivor to flank from one side.
"No time to wait this one out."

"Oh crap!" Val thought suddenly. Her troops had reported that one of her fellow tributes was already camped out on the other side of this hill.
"Raise defenses on that side of the hill FAST!" she shouted, "build it out of twigs if you need to!"

It seemed like it had worked. The wall was shaky but it was there.
It should at least hold out for the rest of the simulation...

This was it, everything hinged on this moment as the other two smiling tributes were eaten by the hideous muttations or picked off by the rival teams' tributes.
Dante took a deep breath as he ordered himself to charge into the fray!

The miniature avatar kept smiling, even as it was cut down by the attacks.
Suddenly reality clicked for Dante as he watched the game continue, without him.
"Oh, shit." He whispered out loud.
