Ox saw the two squirrels running about at everyone's feet and knew he they would make a good meal, he took out his axe in the hope that he would snag one.

Ox swung his axe down hard and missed by the slightest bit! He sat down with a harrumph, angry at the agile little squirrels and their eluding capture.

Two squirrels darted around on the floor of the room, begging to be skinned. Over the years, Arnie had watched squirrels pillage grain stores and cause spoilage that caused people to go hungry at home. Now was his chance to catch one of them for a change.

Obviously Arnie wasn't paying enough attention when he was looking over the snare materials with Gaston, the now dead tribute from District 2. With more focus, Arnie tried to rig a snare from the limited materials present, hoping this time it would catch.

Arnie watched with disdain as the squirrels noticed his snare and simply moved away from it. Food was so much easier to gather when you could plant it.

Seth set up a small snare with a few crumbs of food as bait. It was too dark to search for the squirrels so he figured baiting them might be the best way to catch one.

Rosa was nervous about Ayla's situation but she was more nervous about the fact that it seemed like they would have to split up and she would have to be prepared.
Rosa glanced over at Ayla. "I should really go over there and..." she paused. In reality she had no idea what she COULD do to help her out right now but there were squirrels darting around and maybe if she could catch one of them she would at least be more prepared for when they had to split up.

Rosa lunged after the squirrel but a piece of the ivy from the last level of the tower was hanging from her boot and snagged her just as she was jumping towards it.
"Ooof" she let out as she face planted on the hard ground. Rosa quickly dusted herself off and looked around to see if anyone else had noticed. Just in case they had she would try again to redeem herself.

"Oof" she exclaimed as she hit the floor again. She got up, her face glowing a bright red from embarrassment and adjusted her wig before the others saw. At least she hoped it was before the others saw...
She may not have caught a squirrel but she had enough food to last her a while for now. Right now she had to figure out what was going to happen when they split up.

“I got one!” Seth shouted excitedly. Seth had hunted with traps before, but building a snare in the dark was quite an achievement. Unfortunately the animal was so small it could hardly be called a meal, but hopefully it would at least keep him alive for another day.

There was still one squirrel left and he was proving to be hard to catch. Seth had gotten lucky using his baited trap and Alicia had no idea how to build one of those snares. She had never hunted before and there wasn’t any time to learn how.
Just then she spotted the elusive squirrel near the exit of the maze. She had figured out the layout pretty easily, so maybe she could trap it in a dead end. It seemed hopeless, but it was worth a shot.

The squirrel was too quick to herd into a corner. She held out some food in her open palm.
“Here squirrely, squirrely!” she said, feeling quite stupid. If this worked, it would be a miracle.
