Lava was slowly rising throughout the arena, forcing the tributes up through the levels of the tower. Stepping into the next alcove, Tristan's stomach rumbled as he spied the plump squirrels frolicking around the large chamber.
'Holey Nets! I must be hungry to look at those at those and immediately think of food.' Thought Tristan as he cautiously approached one.
The potentially-delicious critter bounded away from the District Four tribute, keeping him in view with its tiny, dark eyes. It was obvious Tristan couldn't grab one by chasing it.
Undaunted, Tristan began fashioning a crude snare using the net he had taken from the Cornucopia, some sticks and vines littering the chamber and some moss to conceal the finished trap.

The chubbier of the two squirrels seemed to enjoy inspecting the trap right after Tristan backed away. It seemed almost disdainful as it flashed through the snare and back out again, long before the trap could be sprung.
"Rot take you!" He yelled, scrambling to dive after the creature.
A few minutes of fruitless chasing left Tristan back at the snare once again, reconstructing a hopefully faster trap.
