Jaffe rubs her finger across the barrel of her handgun. "Can I really kill someone?" she wonders, checking the barrel over and over again to make sure that the three bullets are still loaded.
"I was thinking guys, maybe we actually do this... maybe we can win the Hunger Games." she says. "We'll need this gun for the Careers. No use using it on anyone else. I'm just not sure what to do about the sponsor points... do we wait for the right moment to use them or should we buy now and have a strategy to them?" She looks at Tristan and Alistair, hoping for some help.

Al saw Jaffie with the gun and backed away slowly. "Well fuck, you got the gun. You have a gun. Good to know." He pursed his lips and stood next to her. "Look, there can only be one winner, you know that. I've accepted that and I'm not built to win this. I am a small skinny nerdy boy with no athletic skills to speak of. I'll help you guys get through as far as I can. Maybe we'll figure out what we're lacking as a team and sort of work to fill those gaps."

"I've been trying to keep track of the others out here, since soon enough we'll be tossed into a fray with them."
Tristan picked up a twig and began a crude drawing in the cave's dirty floor.
"Within that maelstrom yesterday, hard to not see how some grouped up and fought together. Safe to say that they're the biggest threat we've got!"
The stick snapped as Tristan was making a set of circles inside the pattern, he grunted and looked for another.
"Way I see it, everyone else feels the same: 'Get through these warm-ups with enough salt to take on the others when we're thrown together."
He looked up toward Al and Jaffe.
"Question is; do we join up with the next people we see or hit 'em first and go from there?"

"Depends on who the next people we see are. If it's a group of careers we might as well be sitting with an apple in our mouths. But there are some that we know that maybe will join us, I don't know. It all honestly depends. If you think we're strong enough to take them down, we might as well try. But let's be ready for the worst."

"Can we trust anyone?" said Jaffe, not sure if she was talking to Alistair, Tristan, or just herself. "They will either out number us and be a threat or see us as a threat. This weapon is to powerful to hand over to anyone I think." She laid her head in Alistair's lap. "You're the realist. What's going to happen Alistair?" she groans. "When will the Capitol make me kill?"
