Ayla had managed to make her way through the lethal ivy without a problem. She had gathered food, first landed on her ass, then managing to get some good fruit. She was pretty sure she had bruised her butt from that fall. Hopefully no one else noticed her clumsiness.
Ayla began to make a make-shift camp. She gathered palm branches to create a more comfortable place to sit and eventually sleep on. She then sat down and began to eat the fruit that she had managed to snag. She wasn't sure what type of fruit this was, not something she had ever tried before in 5. It had a spiny exterior, and the inside was sweet. It wasn't bad. She assumed it may have been better if it were riper. Despite this, it felt good to have something in her stomach

Unable to move any further, Seth plopped down on the palm branches next to Ayla. Even though they were indoors the design of the tower and the foliage around them really made it feel like they were camping in a forest.
“Not so hard, right?” Seth said sarcastically, massaging his legs and breathing heavily. “I’m guessing it only gets harder from here. If I had known this was going to be one big obstacle course I would’ve thought twice about volunteering.

Derrick sat next to Ayla and Seth. He looked upwards.
"I wonder if we can ever make it over to the other towers?" His eyebrows furrowed with worry. "Or are we just going to continuously climb upwards?"
His stomach rumbled. He didn't mind. He could get something at the next level.
Derrick sighed, "Man, I sure could use a drink right now."

Arnie walked up to the group and plopped to the ground with a thud. Looking to the group Arnie saw some of them worrying.
"I suppose it won't get easier, but I can promise you that we're having an easier go of it than some of those other tributes. I suspect we will hear a few more cannon booms before long."
Arnie laid back and looked at the enormous tree before him. As he closed his eyes to rest he started to think about what Derrick had said about a drink, that would be nice...if only my token was a still.

Ayla noticed that Seth was massaging his leg. It must have really hurt. "Here, let me help with that" she said, taking over the massage.
Ayla considered Derrick's question. "I'm not sure we can get to the other towers... unless we had one of those remotes. Even if we did though, would we want to? I'm not sure. I have a theory that all of these levels will just lead up to a platform that connects all of them. I wonder if the four towers will become two before that point."
Arnie had mentioned the cannons. "It sure will be interesting to hear the cannons tonight. Did you see that Mave was the first to go after the cornucopia? I've put a bit of thought into that. She didn't seem to be badly hurt at the cornucopia... and I doubt her obstacles could have killed her off that quickly, with a strong bod and belly full of food. I reckon that the other tributes must have done her in. Which tower did she go to again, and who was with her?"

Ox came over to Ayla and Seth and began to jokingly mssage Seth's other leg while he spoke to them.
"I really hope it isn't going to turn into one giant platform by the end of this... That would be one messy battle royale." Despite Ox joking his face became suddenly Grim.
"These obstacles seem very small compared to what I'm sure is coming... I'm cherishing this time with all of you. I'm glad we have it together."
He grinned wide again and gave Seth another reassuring leg squeeze before mussing his hair with a massive hand.

“Thanks guys,” Seth said and sat back as his friends took over massaging his sore legs. He smiled at them. “You know, you’re pretty good at that. Reminds me of being back in District 5 when my friend Erica would massage and stretch my legs after therapy.”
“I think Mave went North with Jessie, Rosie, and the Careers. And I think you’re right— There’s no way the obstacles could have killed her already. Someone’s bloodthirsty, and the way those careers attacked you, Ayla, I bet it’s them hunting down the others.”
“If you’re right about the towers connecting, maybe we should stay away from the North tower. How should we deal with the careers if we do come in contact with them?”

Derrick mused about the careers.
"Well, we do have way more people. We could probably split up into a few groups and take them on. Then again, we don't know if they decided to align with any of the others." Derrick shrugged. "But hey! What's the use in worry about that kind of thing? We'll deal with it when we get there, yea?" he grinned. "I'm kind of enjoying these challenges. Makes this whole thing seem more like a game."

Ayla smiled at Ox, she liked that he was able to make people laugh even during a stressful time.
"If we come into contact with the careers, we need to take them out. 7 against 2 shouldn't be too big of an issue. Of course, they've got plenty of weapons, which we do not. I would consider trying to get a weapon from the sponsors. I think taking them out one at a time would be best... That way they don't have a chance to use morphing. But if the two- who is more of a threat?"

Ox removed the axe from his belt and placed it head down on the ground with his hands folded over the handle.
"I've got my weapon." He said with his deep base and bravado.
"Maybe I should consider asking my sponsors for something else... Maybe I should ask for something else?"

All this talk of purchasing weapons made Arnie perk up, he had forgotten about his sponsor points.
"When it comes down to it, I can provide my own weapon. Well, I can get one from the sponsors that is." Arnie started to think about what choice he would make, maybe a mace like he went for in the cornucopia. Or a sword, fancy! Of course he was only barely familiar with using one of those. A sickle, on the other hand, was a tool he was much more familiar with.
"Whenever we decide it would be best, I'll ask for a sickle. We can't all have beefy weapons like Ox and his sturdy Axe!"
