Rosa scratched at the mass of hair on...her head. "Hopefully it won't be TOO obvious," she thought to herself. She had decided to own this situation. Going forward she would be Rosa through and through.
Rosa was currently standing in the middle of a very large training area. The...circumstances of her situation...had kept her from feeling comfortable interacting with others but if she was going to do this she might as well not make her sister look like an idiot. Maybe she'd talk to people. Heck even get to know some of the other teens in this building but right now she had to do...something.
Rosa had been so busy hiding in the District 10 suite room that she hadn't even bothered to plan for this training session or even team up with anyone. As she glanced around the room her eyes fell upon stations left set up by other tributes, everything from hanging ropes to posts sticking out of water to a strange glass dome that seemed to smell of burnt hair. Rosa sighed lightly, if she had even put an ounce of planing into this day she was sure she could have at least put on a good show but instead it seemed as though every different possible way to showcase agility had been used. Anything she could do at this point would be a bit tired and old might as well just regroup and actually plan for tomorrow.
As she moved toward the exit she glanced around the room. Everything from weapons to holographic projectors to...smoke bombs?
Rosa walked over to what appeared to be a pile of small round objects in a section labeled stealth. Yeah...these were smoke bombs. Much more professional than the ones she used to make on the ranch with her sister but Rosa knew the main principles. A quick sweep of the room showed that she was the only one that remained in the facility save for what she assumed might be sponsors up on a balcony overlooking the room but even they looked like they were headed out.
Rosa grinned to herself. Might as well have some fun practicing for tomorrow. Her mind reeled with possibilities as she scanned the training room thinking back on the pranks she used to play on friends and family back in the small ranch town. A quick slice with one of the daggers from the combat area and a good portion of the climbing rope came tumbling down to the floor. She dialed up a hologram of a tribute crouched in the fetal position. She coudl only assume that this was meant to show a complete lack of empathy and indiscretion in killing but for now he would serve as a digital analogue for a bush. Dropping a smoke bomb or two for good measure within the trembling hologram she walked with the rope leaving the tail end frayed trailing from the "bush" As soon as she walked away a second "tribute" was triggered who seemed content to walk around looking for a flesh and blood foe. She smiled, "All the better," she thought.
Fraying the rope as she went she soaked other tail of the rope in the pool of water from which the agility course jutted. She mused on the fact that she probably could have tackled that no problem but then that was her own fault.
Wet rope in hand she made her way over to the glass dome marked with a yellow lightening bolt she could only assume implied some source of electricity. As she crested the entrance tp the dome she stepped back to admire her handy work. Out of curiosity she flipped a switch on the outside of the dome and sure enough lights indicated where bolts of electricity would generate. You'd have to be pretty confident of your skills to use this to train. One false move and you'd look like a complete idiot to the sponsors. She watched as the active tribute tromped around the hologram area. Her focus absolute she waited for the hologram to make a move for the "bush" and the lights to herald the electric bolts.
"Yep," she thought to herself, "I'd have to drop it right n-" she froze as the rope dropped from her grasp completing the trap she had planned to reveal tomorrow. "Shiiii-" she managed to get out before the wet rope struck the arc of electricity. The frayed rope caught fire and the sure enough the lacquer it had been treated with to make it withstand the wear of many sweaty teens light it up in a beautiful display with the fraying acting as an intrinsic tinder. As the flame found its way to the "bush" the other holographic tribute was at the point in his cycle that took him directly through his companion hologram.
A decently large noise emanated from the holographic platform as the fire from the rope caused the smoke bomb to combust. When the smoke faded she saw the damage.
She was suddenly well aware that fire was not the best way to set off a smoke bomb as the hologram she had unwittingly attacked now seemed to be twitching in place suspended in mid air with a leg coming out of his forehead. She had very clearly damaged the holographic projector. She would just have to sneak out of here and make her way back to her room. Its not like anyone really knew who she was anyway...
She spun in place to casually make her way to the exit when she was met, at eye level, by a floating robotic camera and, as her gaze continued upwards, a good amount of sponsors staring down at her.
"...fuck"
