Arnie entered the training room and examined a true gauntlet that he was going to traverse. If he was going to do well in these games he was going to have to count on his footwork to see him through the tight spots. Agility was on the menu for today.
His first obstacle was simply to cross a water filled pit by stepping only on posts that jutted out of the ground at uncomfortable angles. A timer collapsed posts behind him on a strict countdown. Speed and precision were required for this exercise which Arnie learned quite well as he occasionally slipped into the training pools below.
"You're wet now. You are going to need to think through your movements, pretend its cold. What will you do! Know it like you know how to open your eyes. Practice!" With the experienced eyes of his trainer, Arnie mastered the crossing. Learning to change his momentum mid stride and picking a different footing was slow to learn, but felt natural by the end. Feeling as if he mastered the task Arnie proceeded to the next raised platform.

Before Armoe stood an odd octagonal platform with a multicolored floor. Patterns of large red, yellow and blue colored tiles were spread out on the platform floor and the arena with ringed with sandbags ready to fall and throw him off onto the floor. Arnie's trainer had a remote that could drop the tiles for any of colors and send a slow tribute to the ground or leave them susceptible to being hit by a large swinging weight. Arnie had thought about this for a while, but still didn't have a plan but made his way into the center nonetheless.
Arnie stood in the center of the cage like room and waited. Almost immediately he heard two sharp noises. The first noise was that of the red tiles on the floor giving way, leaving large holes in the floor. The second noise was the sound of the sandbag being released. Dodging the first few was easy. As the weights continued to swing in the air Arnie began to lose his footing and nearly slipped through to the training room floor but recovered from the mishap with the trainers helpful advice. When the bags had stopped swinging and he was clearly out of danger Arnie beamed at his trainer expecting a warm congratulations. Instead the trainer punched another button and collapsed the yellow tile that Arnie was standing on and he fell to the floor.
"Don't get cocky, you should have seen that coming!"
Arnie walked off reflecting on the lesson, happy for what he had tackled this day.
