The sixteen year old ran straight to the windows, and looked outside. He was here…this was everything he ever wanted. This place was simply amazing. His heart was beating so hard the whole train ride and been restless. He had to play with a dinner knife to keep himself in check. He said to no one in particular, “I knew…but I never quite knew…seeing it for myself.” He thought about how amazing this entire experience was going to be. He felt himself getting excited again, the food! The people! How would he ever sleep here. He had one great obstacle and this would be his. All his.
It would be his.
He turned and decided to attempt to find the girl who was his district mate. Putting his hand to his nose pinching it as he tried to come up with the three plans that he was currently working. He had no idea who Emerald was. Once again he tried to make everyone know him but never bothered to get to know anyone else. Well this is as good a time as any.Pulling his hand from his nose and giving a gentle smile he wondered...how far should he though? Careers usually teamed up but that was not always the case. Plus if their personalities did not mesh it would case issues.
He called out as nicely as he could, “Miss Manor? I have some ideas for the Parade but would absolutely love your input, if you might mind discussing it with me?” Gaston had been waiting for this, years of planning all this out would be laid out. He would listen to her…Emerald mattered. The first person in his life who mattered. People here were real, not like the people at home.
He got a glass of juice but had it poured into a wine glass. He had been acting his whole life. He was a drama king and loved the interplay between people. He smiled took a sip and all the social grace in the world became a cloak. He needed to make a good impression with her more so than anyone else. Currently Emerald was the most important.

Emerald emerged from the side room off of the main gathering area. She had taken some time to herself and try to catch some sleep before the craziness starts. As she emerges, Emerald doesnt notice the other body in the room. This was different from the reaping, you could see Gaston from miles away. She glides over to the kitchen area where she grabs and glass of water and sits in a love seat across from Gaston.
"I have to be honest with you, I had no idea I would be here today. My father has worked his magic yet again and put me in these stupid games like my brother..."
Emerald quickly takes a drink of water as she realized how excited Gaston was to be in these games.
"So...you had mentioned you had an idea for our grand entrance? Let's win this thing."
Emerald gives Gaston a sincere smile and then pulls the hair way from her eyes.

(Imma start working on the parade thread to post, hopefully this works for you. : 3)
Gaston watched her walk across the room and move with the grace one would expect a girl from two to do. He noticed that she seemed stunned about the whole thing. Gaston forgot that to most people this was not the highlight of their life like it was for him. Apparently, her brother had been involved with one of the previous ones and her father set her up to be here. He had heard of such things. Looking back at her, he wondered if she was a career on the inside as much as she was on the outside. He also could not help but notice she was attractive. Once again the first person he ever had to notice other than himself. Thank goodness there are others as good looking as himself.
He took a seat and attempted to put his hand behind her, holding his hand out like he was a movie star producer trying to convince a new girl to become a movie star. He smiled and gave her a sideways glance. “Picture this, we are second through the gate. District One has warmed up the crowd, we wear bladed armor, not revealing at all, we are warriors, performers.” He glanced with a satisfied grin. “We wave, make everything seem normal, then about thirty-five percent of the way across I lift you up and we do an acrobatics act. We cheerleader you up, so our hands are holding and your feet are in the air. I toss you and every time we touch our chariot makes a clash sound of metal, like blades crossing. Lights shine out from our suits, like they are sparks. We wait until about sixty-six percent of the way across and I toss you once more, you land and we cross our hands like an big X and as we finish our suits are falling off into elegant formal wear and we bow, looking gorgeous and dressed to impress.”
He shot up midway through the speech acting out the parts in front of her, energy bursting out of him. His arm out to be half of the X he looked at her expectantly. Breathing a little though, he coughed and put a hand behind his head. “That is, of course, if you think it is good. It not only shows our strength and stamina, but our elegance and beauty after combat. Truly, the perfect competitor.”
His eyes would be diamonds, if that was possible.

Emerald listens intently as Gaston dramatizes the parade. As the percentage of the parade grew, Emerald edged closer and closer to the end of her seat. Gaston stood up and started to actually act out the parade right in front of her. Just then something inside of Emerald took off like a lightning bolt. All the training she's been through is starting to kick in and she launches herself into the air as Gaston finished the final scene of the parade.
"That's it! The other districts better step up their game. We had better get started practicing. I'm sure you're wondering if I'm actually dedicated to these games. I want you to know, I'm nothing to be messed with. My father may have put me this game but I'll be damned if I dont win these games and send him to the hell where he belongs."
Emerald grabs Gastons hands and drags him to an opening toward the entrance of the hotel room.
"Oh, and one more thing, if you ever try pulling a stunt like you did at the reaping with me, I'll take you down faster than you'll be able to count to 3"
She throws him into the chariot formation and gives him a quick wink as she prepares to be lifted up.

- Later that night -
Gaston was a bit peeved by his failure. Apparently he had misinterpreted what the sponsors were looking for. The way he got angry was inwardly. After the points had been shown he had simply smirked. Emerald had trusted his judgment but clearly it was misplacement. He had tried to get his name around the feast but decided that might have been a bust as well. Sure the one sponsor saw them but he was deep within District One’s pockets.
He sighed and rubbed his temples. He was hoping to get something from the earlier stuff, only wanting to make himself better on the training days. Now though he may need to simply show off his best. He honestly was still debating it.
He had no idea where Emerald was, he did not see her at the feast but he might have just missed her. Either way he was waiting in the hotel room for her. Just to discuss things and see what she was thinking in the games. Let her know about his talk with Anton, if she had not seen the pictures or news of it…
Maybe being a big showoff was actually hurting him more than anything else…
