Ahead is a large cavern filled with deep, dark water. Your only option is to swim across. Just as you are about to dive in you notice a silver triangular fin circling the pool with supernatural speed. You realize that you don't need to outswim the shark, you just need to outswim everyone else.
Advance to the next location. *The tribute with the lowest total Athletics score loses 2 HP.
Defend Against Shark Attack

Lose 1 HP and advance to the next location
Penalty: If you do not complete the event, the Shark Muttation bites you. Lose 2 HP.
Ox saw the shark mutation swimming after him once he had plunged into the water, his panic overtook him, but he was trained for this, he had a strong body and he could swim better than anyone he knew back in District 11. He would pull through. Ox kicked hard and thrust his arms through the water as hard as he could.

Arnie watched Ox jump into the water and zip across the water with incomprehensible speed. Damn that guy was quick. Arnie looked at the other tribute and hoped he could out compete them and join Ox on the other side safe and sound. As he entered the water fear started to overtake him. Arnie hated water, especially if he couldn't see the bottom.

Ashton clapped his hands on Al and Jaffe's shoulder, biting his lip to look at the water. Swimming definitely wasn't his strong suit...and he was already losing a lot of strength after these various animal attacks--he didn't have a lot left in him after being attacked by the bat. "Hey, piece of cake, right? See you guys on the other side." he pinched Al, cuffed Jaffe and pat Olive's shoulder before diving in. He could maybe fake it long enough to distract the shark, making it to the other side. Hopefully.

Al was the last of the bunch to attempt the swim and he inhaled deeply before diving in after Ashton and Jaffie. The cold water hithim like knives as he swam forward, desperate to get to the other side as fast as he could.

Ashton gagged on some of the water, his wounds reopening and slowing him down. He could feel his lungs heave and he shivered. "Al." he spat out a mouthful of water, "Keep going man. I'm fucked anyway. There's no need for both of us to go down. Go."

Al kept going but he could feel his heart sink as Ashton spoke. This was the first time he was seeing death in this arena and it was someone he would have considered an ally. He felt helpless but if he stopped, they would have both been fucked. Digging in, he tried again to swim faster and make it while keeping an eye on ash. "We're gonna make it, man. We're gonna be okay." He didn't know who he was saying it for, but he wanted to stay with his friend.

Ashton swam in the water, feeling tears sting his eyes as he kept trying to swim. Al passed him and he tried to keep up, but he could feel the shark mutt gaining on him and he couldn't help his heaving chest, more out of fear at this point than anything. He didn't want it to end like this. For all the comments and attitude he'd had in these games, he didn't want to die.

Olive saw Ashtons struggle and decided that she the least she could do was jump in a try to distract the mutt, maybe he would go after her and give Ashton a little bit of room to breathe, she was quite fit from all her tree climbing at home but her wounds still bled from the big bat, maybe the blood would help draw the shark... either way it was better to be two than one, she wished she'd been more alert and tried to get everybody to go together that might have been better for all of them...
"I'm going in, just swim Ashton! I'll meet you on the other side!!"

She was right, as soon as she hit the water the shark went after her hitting her left leg with it's long tail...'crap', she though to herself, I need to do better than this! Hopefully she had given Ahston enough time to at least make it through, he didn't seem to have a lot left in him

Ashton panicked as the shark began to descend on him, "Olive! Help! Help pull me out!" Ashton coughed and sputtered, holding onto the strip of land, digging his nails into the dirt as the mutt continued to attack him in the water. "I'm not dying in the water!" he reached out to the others before his hand slipped and he gripped onto the rocks again, hoping that the shark wouldn't eat him alive.

Ashton coughed and sputtered, laying his hands on his chest. His lower half was throbbing and he could feel the blood pouring from him. His face was streaked with tears and fear gripped every part of him. He couldn't move...he couldn't move. It was becoming harder and harder to breathe--like there was a rock getting increasingly heavier on his chest, crushing him. He closed his eyes, trying to block out the pain but it wasn't working. Between the squirrels, the bat, and now the shark....Ashton wasn't sure he could make it any further. "I don't wanna die." he half stated, half sobbed on the ground. It felt wet under the his fingers. "I don't wanna die."

Ash moved his head towards Olive, "No use love." he tapped her arm lightly, "gonna bleed out." he coughed again, feeling like his lungs were about to collapse on him. He knew he only had minutes left. "Guess...guess I'll have to be with you for the rest of South Tower....some other way." Ashton moved to his belt and started to try and unhook the knife from him and slide it over. "I need...you to take this. I need you to win, love. I need you to win." he slid the knife over to her, the brown leather stained a deep red. "I know you've a sword...but I need you to have this."

Cal Mensen: I believe you edit the post. You can either rewhisper to everyone (too much work), or copy and paste the whispers into public text. I'd imagine you'd want to give some sort of symbol or notation that they were once whispers.

Cal Mensen: Same here, part of me wants to allocate some time aside to building a new one in a different setting. It'd be easier to devote time to if there's a shard interest.
