Holly watched carefully as the Peacekeeper attached her cuffs to the chain hanging above her head. I just need a distraction...
BLAM!
Dust flew into Holly's eyes, raining down and momentarily stunning her. She blinked them clear and saw the Peacekeeper's had turned away from their charges, high above the dust and debris, in the cockpit of a hovercraft was a familiar redhead. Holly wasted no time. Turning towards the pole and looping the heavy chain around her wrist, Holly wrapped her legs around it and climbed the extra foot and a half she needed to pull the chain off the hook it had been attached to at the top. She grabbed hold of the end of the chain and dropped back down, took aim and swung at the Peacekeeper who had locked her handcuffs moments before.

Though he was disoriented and bleeding heavily Holly could not afford to take any chances, she wrapped the chain around his neck and pulled it tight. When his body was limp, Holly took the keys from his belt and removed her own cuffs. She paused for a moment glad for the cover of dust from the surrounding firefight, checking the Peacekeeper for a pulse and scowled. You'll live.
Turning to the other poles, Holly hoped to help any tributes who had not been able to free themselves.1d10+2

Something falling from the hovercraft above caught her eye. A rifle.. a bow... and something else. Holly burst into a run away from the poles and behind the line of Peacekeepers whose attention was still being held by Millie in the hovercraft. Ahead of her was another group, their attentions had been diverted by the explosions but now seeing the tributes break free had refocused their efforts and raised their guns to fire.
The diversion was all she needed to cover the ground between them. She swung the chain and connected once again with a Peacekeeper's face. Blood flew from his mouth and he fell as gunshots exploded around her. Holly dove for the rifle ahead of her on the ground and felt a sharp pain in her ribs. A steel toed boot had landed on her side and was swiftly followed by another, a sickening crunch as her rib cracked was it's parting gift. Bearing down on the pain, Holly reached the last few inches for the gun ahead of her.

Grasping the butt of the gun she turned ignoring the pain in her side as best she could, just as another kick was coming. Holly aimed at the Peacekeeper above her and fired.

Holly pushed the fallen Peacekeeper off her. Her side exploding in pain. she managed to scramble out from under him pulling the chain and rifle free from his weight and found her back against the platform the anti aircraft gun was stationed on. Adrenaline was pumping through her veins and she pulled herself up to the controls, coming face to face with a burnt face she didn't recognize. Holly paused, unsure if this was friend or foe. In that moment he smiled and let out a sickening laugh, and Holly realized she had come face to face with Vester Lombard. She pulled the rifle from her side but slowed by her injuries he was able to make the first move. Vester had to have seen the Peacekeepers assault on her, and he lunged for her, aiming a punch directly into her side. Holly fell back on the railing coughing up a mouthful of blood as her rifle fell and landed on the metal grating at their feet.
Vester took a few steps toward her, kicking the gun behind him and leaned over her, his body and face heavily burned with a wild look in his eyes. He laughed at her as she struggled to bring herself upright.
"The rebellion is here. The games will end and the Capital will fall. Panem will be free. Look around you this can't be stopped." Holly glared at him, hatred had been burning in her for Vester for a long time. The faces of her friends were flashing in her mind.
Vester smiled and leaned in to her snarling, "There is no rebellion. This will be the year that no one will ever forget. You never escaped, I let you go." He stood and leaned back, admiring the chaos and destruction around him and the collapsed tribute before him. "This," he said gesturing with his arms wide open, "this is my legacy!"
Holly chuckled and spit out another mouthful of blood drawing his attention once more, gripping the chain behind her back.
"Your legacy? My friends died for your little game and more will die today. You're right, no one will forget the last Hunger Games." Holly looked up at him with fire in her eyes, "But you won't get to enjoy it."
Holly pulled the chain out from behind her back and whipped it around his legs. It wrapped around his ankle and she pulled with all the strength she had left. Vester fell, cracking his head on the grating. Holly pulled herself over him as he lay stunned, straddling his chest and pinning his arms as she reached for the gun. In a moment she had it and forced the barrel beneath his chin. His eyes widened and he struggled to open his mouth to speak. Holly pulled the trigger.
Holly slumped to the side, relief washing over her. You're not done yet, get up. She pulled herself up and into the seat of the gun, reviewing the controls. A peacekeeper had left it initialized, its arming sequence was all that was left.

Taking a deep breath, Holly turned the gun on the Peacekeeper forces and fired. She hit several, the rest scattered for cover from the hail of bullets. Holly saw the other tributes running for the airship and yelled for them to run, giving them as much cover as she could. When she saw no others joining, Holly wrapped the chain around the handle, securing it with the handcuffs to the seat. She set the controls for constant fire and smashed the display with the butt of the rifle. With any luck, it would drift from recoil in a narrow path and give her the cover she needed.
Holly jumped down, crying out in pain and ran for the hovercraft ahead of her. Dodging the path she set for cover and the few bullets of the remaining Peacekeepers, Holly made it to the bay of the craft and dropped to her hands and knees, finally free.
