Following the defeat of the hovercraft, a squadron of twenty Peacekeepers arrives, accompanied by a tank. They quickly surround the hospital and lock their weapons onto the tributes.
“You’re outnumbered. Drop your weapons!” the Peacekeepers order. “You are under arrest. Surrender now. If you resist, we will shoot you.”

Wren had JUST made inside the hospital when a crowd of peacekeepers surrounded them. That's too many...There's no way... He gave the rest of the group a knowing look, walked outside, and laid his baton on the ground. Wren raised his hands in the air and spoke,...
"My name is Wren Hartwood. I am a tribute from District Seven in the Quarter Quell. They tell me I am a rebel in a war in the Capitol. If I have done anything wrong, forgive me. Forgive us all.
My belief is that peacekeepers should help keep the peace-not bring violence. I know this has not always been the case. If I am not able to change the world, perhaps I can inspire change in the relationship between peacekeepers and ordinary citizens. Please, let me work with you for a better Panem. I think we all want the same thing, we just...go about in different ways to get it.
I'm in love with a peacekeeper. I am friends with peacekeepers. I believe we can work together in true peace. The Phoenix Accord has been doing exactly that. Why should we be killing each other? No one should have to die....Please, forgive us. For whatever we've done. We surrender. I surrender."
There were tears in Wren's eyes as he kneeled with his hands behind his head. Peacekeepers can be beautiful...peacekeepers can do beautiful things...right? Cal showed me, they can love. They can forgive.

"Why..." Val thought to herself as she was surrounded, "I was ready for the rebels...at least that meant Gwen would.."
Valeria put one hand in the air to signify her peaceful surrender but her other hand firmly grasped Gwen's. "Don't worry," she whispered, "it's a miracle we've made it this far and I don't plan on wasting it..."
There was still hope... There had to still be hope... It couldn't end like this...
"No matter what happens," she continued evenly as the peacekeepers reached for their handcuffs, "know that..."
Her hand was ripped from Gwen's as a peacekeeper forced it into a metal cuffs.
"...I love you."

Holly set her jaw as she watched the Capital forces surround their location. After all of this...Making her way outside she clenched her fists, digging her nails into her palms. She stood by Wren, Val and Gwen and whispered something to them. "Don't give up hope. I haven't."
Holly dropped to her knees and raised her hands in the air her expression defiant.

Sydney's heart fell as the door was pounded and she felt her pulse increase. Taking deep breaths, she looked around at the others with a feeling of panic. She wasn't ready to die, she really wasn't. Her hands were ripped from the air as she was placed in metal cuffs.
She paused to look at the others and smile sadly.
"Well guys, it's been one hell of a time...let's hope I didn't wind up giving up my life in vain. Keep fighting the good fight, guys."

OOC: I'm between the wedding and the reception, fantastic timing there Vester.
Cal is seething with anger. All that we've done, all that we've fought for, those we had to let go... It can't end like this...
Seeing Wren and the others march forward, he wanted nothing more than to grab Wren's baton and lash out at their captors. Disgusted in the peacekeepers and to an extent his past self, he would not see them triumph.
Hearing his friends' words, Cal stops himself. No matter how dire their circumstances, he had a promise to uphold. To continue living.
He rests on his knees, placing a hand on Wren's shoulder. After a light squeeze, he lets go, placing his hands over his head.
I won't let you die alone, Wren. This just can't be how this ends... How we end...

Thomas watched as his new friends have themselves up. Thomas had always been a follower. If they were jumping off cliffs, he would have been right behind them. Today was no different.
He bent on his knees and placed his hands above his head.

The only thing Gwen could focus on was Val's hand in hers. She felt an eerie calm wash over her as the peacekeepers surrounded them. Weren't the rebels supposed to be here? The next thing Gwen noticed was Val's hand being torn from hers. She looked at Val, thinking it was going to be for the last time. At least she gets to live.Gwen smiled. Another peacekeeper was coming their way. Before he could reach them she grabbed Val and gave her a lingering kiss, "I love you, too." There was so much more to say, but it would have to do as the peacekeeper tore her away. She dropped to her knees in surrender. She barely caught Holly's whisper. "Pfft. I was going to seduce my way out. Unless you got a better idea," Gwen smirked.
