Everybody else was reuniting and she could sense that emotions would soon run high. So, while everyone still had a level head Val decided to try to find a weak spot on this death machine that they could all rally around.

Letting the light from the sun bounce off the exterior of the hovercraft Val could see small ridges where the welding marks had been.
"That's the ticket," she thought to herself, "Might as well take a shot at it while I'm up here..."

If she hadn't know about the weak spots that probably would have just ricocheted off the hull. But thanks to her lucky spot the bullet found its mark squarely in the cockpit of the hovercraft.1d10+2

"Ha!" she exclaimed, "I'm on fire!"
"Guess I shouldn't waste this hot streak," she grinned, "I can save this for later just in case." Val put the energy pill back into her pocket.
"Well, no time like the present," Val muttered while lining up the shot.
