Thomas awoke after a long night's sleep. He had to admit, hospital beds were pretty comfortable. He had changed into some scrubs, more comfortable than the clothes he had been wearing since the capitol.
He wandered about the hospital looking for someone to talk to. Cal and Gwen seemed to be having a serious conversation in the cafeteria, and it didn't seem like any of Thomas's business, so for once, he decided to stay out of things. A little more wandering brought him to the rehab unit. He meandered into the PT gym. Might as well lift some weights...there was nothing else to do! Of course, it was a rehab gym... not a real gym, so the heaviest weights were about ten pounds. He grabbed two in each hand and did some curls.

Wren wandered into a physical therapy room and saw Thomas working out. His mind was a bit mixed, with happy thoughts and a few dark thoughts as well. He decided to take out the jealousy and fear on some padded beams.
"Hey, mind if I hang out here for a bit? Hit some shit?" Wren took a few swings. It felt better than he'd expected, having been a pacifist until just recently. "So, how was your experience in the training facility? Any better or worse than conditions back home?"

"Go right ahead." Thomas said. "The training facility wasn't too bad. I kept to myself mostly, just because talking to so many people wa sa little overwhelming! It seems like you got along. Alright though, and even managed to make several friends. do you want me to spot you on those beams?"

"Nah, I'm good. Thanks, though. Was just mainly looking to take out some negative feelings. I've had a lot of those these past few days. Today's been...surprisingly pleasant, though. For the most part."
He smiled at Thomas. "I talked to so many people during training, but sometimes I worry it pushed a few away. I just never had friends in Seven, so I was eager to talk and get to know people. I found some really great people, though, in the process. So I guess that's worth it. Sorry we didn't chat much, back then. You're pretty cool. I'm glad to have met you."
"I hope we can hang out more after this war is over. I'm trying not to let myself imagine too many possibilities, though. I don't wanna get my hopes up that things will end cleanly, like some children's story."

"Don't worry about it. Like I said, I mostly kept to myself- I do better in smaller groups. It's been really awesome though getting to know all of you guys. I also got to meet Holly and Demetri- a little uptight, but we ended up getting along and working together well. I heard Demetri didn't make it though... Which is really too bad. He and Janet did NOT get along. You know, I was here when your district partner died. No one attacked her. She didn't even talk to anyone- really kept to herself. I think she might have died from hunger."
He suddenly noticed something in Wren's hands. "Hey! It looks like you found some morphling- that's awesome! How did you say you got hurt again?"

Wren tried to focus on the question, rather than Demetri's death. It still hurt. He had grown fond of Demetri during this war.
"Well first, Vester shot me as I was escaping into the city. It was my fault for being reckless though. I needed to tell Cal where I was headed, and where he could go that was safe but Vester saw me. Then yesterday, Deo and I fought each other before he died. Just some punches, but things add up ya know?"
