After all the time spent in the training center and in the Capitol, Sharlot was surprised to finally lay eyes on her elusive district partner. Sharlot shyly waved and approached him cautiously and pulled out her handy notepad. She began scrawling. After a moment she handed Lartius the note. "I'm sorry we had to meet in these circumstances, but anyway I'm Sharlot. Seeing as it's unlikely that either of us would be willing or could even possibly take care of that pod alone, I think we may have to work together for mutual benefit. We're obviously both good at hacking, being from District 3, however I found the Access Codes back in the Supply Depot (so I have a +3 Hacking). And unfortunately I don't have any skills in scavenging (-1 Scavenge). What are you able to do?"

Lartius glanced over at the mutation pod. This would not be fun. Looking around the watchtower, there was not much help to be had, just his district mate, Sharlot. Either he had to disable this with her help, or he would be damaged.
"I am at a 0 for scavenging, which isn't great, but I suppose will have to do since you are at -1. I'll try to scavenge it tonight and let you know how it goes. If I succeed, if you could hack, that'd be great."

Sharlot nodded in agreement. She was glad Lartius was willing to work together. So she wrote Lartius another note.
"How have you fared out here so far? I've gathered a lot of information and I know every tribute's allegiance, though there are 3 or 4 that I can't confirm but have an educated guess. Any chance you'd be willing to trade any spare food or items for all my tribute information? It could save you a lot of time and actions down the road."

Lartius came stumbling away from the pod, out of breath and dripping in sweat. Taking a deep breath, he gathered himself. "It took me two attempts, but I managed an 8 scavenging the pod. We are half way to stopping this thing and living to see tomorrow."
Looking more directly at Sharlot, he considered her other offer. "As far as spare supplies go, I don't know how much help I can be. Don't have much in supplies, and food is scarce. I have enough to barely survive today, and tomorrow already looks bleak. I too have information on other tribute though. Unfortunately that is all I have to offer."

Sharlot figured he wouldnt have any spare supplies but it was worth asking. Sharlot wrote another note.
"Can you confirm Eloise, Anna, Sydney, or Julian's allegiances? If so I can tell you any other tributes' allegiances in return."

Lartius nodded. Sharlot was his district mate, he would gladly help her when he could. "Eloise is a rebel for sure. I am 95% sure that Sydney is a peacekeeper, but she has been a hard one to read. I have not run into Anna or Julian much so far, so I am not sure on their allegiances."
As for me, there are a couple tributes I have never run into. I think their names are Thomas, Harlie and Julian? If you have information on them, I'd greatly appreicate it."

Sharlot replied on her notepad.
"As I mentioned, I don't know Julian for sure. I suspect he is a rebel based on information from others. Harlie is a rebel and Thomas is a Peacekeeper. Harlie is very helpful and willing to work together. She was nice enough to trade me some food for information. Thomas is surprisingly deceptive and doesn't hesitate to attack first."
"Also it took me all three actions but I was able to hack that pod. So we should be safe for now."
"Have you made any friends out here in the Capitol?"

Following their brawl, Sharlot stepped back, slightly bloodied. It seemed Lartius was as crafty as she was. All of the other rebels seemed to be content with holing themselves up in one location, doing nothing but collecting food and hanging out beside campfires. She hadn't expected Lartius to play the game. Sharlot smiled and gave him an approving nod. A worthy opponent, she thought.
But now with the muttations on the loose, Sharlot knew their odds of survival were low. With both of them weakened, it was just a matter of who would bleed out or starve first.
