The top of the watchtower gave an impressive view of the surrounding capitol. "Say what you will about them," Val murmured to no one in particular but they know how to make a city..."
She turned to the other people around her, "So...should we plan out what we're doing for the next couple days...or take it one day at a time?"
"By the way," she added taking in her surroundings, "as long as we're here does that mean no one else can enter?"

Cal studies the landscape, hearing the sounds of gunfire echoing across the cityscape, small fires glowing between buildings.
"I think we were only limited to the number of people coming here in order to navigate the chaos of escaping the training facility. From here on out, we could very well see larger battles erupt over important control points."
He looks around to the other escaped tributes, looking each of them in the eyes.
"This first day... we're all walking blind. Planning now could expose us to sabotage, or our actions may make them moot. I'd be happy to talk greater strategy once our day has ended."

Gwen saluted, "Sounds good boss." She cracked her knuckles, "In the meantime, shall I try spying on that group in the hospital? See who's who over there? Otherwise I can try my hand at hacking this place." She walks over to a computer and stares at the screen for a few moments.

Cal chuckled. "Boss..."
He also looks to the computer terminal. The constantly streaming code was giving him a headache, this was beyond his abilities.
"Unless there's someone you're worried about down at the hospital, I'd say give the hacking a go. Let me know if there's anything you need."

"I feel like for now we should attempt to hold this position," Val volunteered.
"We all seem to be on the same page so we can be of best help to our allies in the market by trying to figure out the allegiances of the people we can see up here," she said turning to look out the windows.
"Oh and," she turned back to her location-mates, "Lets not waste time fighting each other. I'm sure we'll have unfriendly visitors tomorrow and we need to stay in good health to greet them properly."

Gwen rolled her eyes and flexed her less than defined arms, "Yea, I'm totally going to attack someone with these noodles of my own free will. Beware my slaps of death." Gwen playfully started slapping Val on the arm.

Val laughed, "Quit it ya goof!" she said as she play slapped back.
"All jokes aside," Val said nudging Gwen, "Whichever one of us has skills with weapons should probably try and scavenge one up."
"I definitely have skill with a weapon but perhaps one of you is a master of the combat arts," she smiled.
"Besides," she added, "I was able to spy the HELL outta our friend Demetri. He doesn't talk about himself all that much but he's strong so I just wanted to make sure he was definitely on the side of the Peacrbringers"

Cal frowned, wishing he still had more work to complete. "If anyone happens to get their hands on a weapon, I can make the best use of it. I was hesitant to go for one until having talked to you guys first." He looks out over the Capital, turning towards the direction of the Market. "Good call, I hadn't met Demetri and wasn't sure what to make of him. It'll be good to know our friends are safe." "Speaking of which, I've done a little scavenging and some spying. Sharlot had reached out to me after I joined the Accord, I think she was trying to tell me she's with the Peacekeepers. In addition to her associate Wallace, I'll know for sure by tonight."

"Well then Ghost," she said smiling, "you'll just have to protect us noodley armed damsels!" Val replied to Cal's concerned whispers with a whisper of her own but she made sure that Gwen could overhear. "I agree, Cal. Something about Sharlot has been rubbing me the wrong way since the moment I met here. Her story is just TOO perfect. If one of us is actually allied with the peacekeepers and not on our side I'd say its her. If any of you is able too I'd say we should spy on her. If it's too late the one of us that's best at spying should check on her first thing tomorrow."

"Oh, and," she added quickly, "make sure we don't all attempt to all do the same chores." She smiled, "that would be unproductive." ((OOC: Sorry about the double post)) "If I had to guess I'd say that Sharlot, Wallace, and Wren are working together as Peacekeepers and they're trying to infiltrate the groups of known rebel sympathizers," Val whispered to Gwen and Cal. "I trust the two of you so although I want to trust the rest of the team we need to make sure that we don't let them catch on that we could even possibly distrust them. If you find out any info on them just whisper it to each other."
If you were able to read both of these whispers use the word "cat" in a sentence in your next post.

"I got your backs, but I wouldn't describe any of you as damsels."

Valeria laughed, "Well I have all my chores done for the day DAD," she said in Ghost's direction. "Can we have fun now?" she inquired, "I miss our old drinking parties." ((OOC: Haha I just miss roleplaying)) ((I'll condense both whispers into one so that you can both see))

"If I had to guess I'd say that Sharlot, Eloise, Wallace, and Wren are working together as Peacekeepers and they're trying to infiltrate the groups of known rebel sympathizers," Val whispered to Gwen and Cal. "I saw those four around each other A LOT in the training centers always having rather sparse conversations with each other. Maybe there were a lot of whispers shared between them..."
"I trust the two of you so although I want to trust the rest of the team we need to make sure that we don't let them catch on that we could even possibly distrust them. If you find out any info on them just whisper it to each other."

Gwen's grin is contagious. "Sorry, times like these I get tense and its easier to treat this as all business. I'm glad to have you guys at my side, and I hope you feel the same." OOC: Gwen, so far I've whispered once to you in the last thread and once to Val in this thread. Both had the same information, so if Val's whispering right now, it isn't to me . Only you can see this one. Edit: Just saw Val's post, ignore the one above.

"Aw...you're gonna make me blush, Ghost" Val smiled. "So!" she laughed, "Who wants to play spin the bottle?" she asked sarcastically. Did you just try to whisper to me Cal? Because I didn't get it. If you tried make sure you're whispering to "valeria" all lower caps. *sniff* hopefully you aren't whispering other people without me?

Cal removes a deck of cards from his back pocket. He tries to give Val a scolding look, but his grin makes it impossible. "Alright gals, we've got a little time before the world falls on us. What's your game, what did we want to wager?" He looks from Val to Gwen, sizing up his competition. OOC: Sorry about that, I could see Gwen's whisper but not your original one, so I sent one to her. Both of you should see this.
"That's worth considering Val, and you're right. We don't know for sure who any of them are working for, but I'll share what I can."
He takes a deep breath.
"Wren was my contact in their group, I had time to get to know him as he made my case for them. Thing is, every time I told him information, it would let slip to the rest of the group. When I told him I thought Sharlot was a peacekeeper, it didn't take long for him to try and confront her. It sounds like she convinced him otherwise, so I'm unsure where that leaves us."
"As for Sharlot and Wallace, I've spied on them earlier today. I'll have results for us to use. I haven't actually heard her story, but I don't understand why she would go out of her way to tell me we're on the "SAMETEAM" after I confirmed to their group that I was a peacekeeper. I wanted to check to make sure I wasn't making a mistake."
Looking at the ground, Cal had one last thought.
"Wren. He's been my biggest spokesperson and a confidant. I haven't checked him yet, but I think he's a straight tribute. Otherwise, Vester wouldn't have shot him on the roof, he would have let him go, like me and Val. What do you guys think?"
OOC: Could read your last whisper.

"Well we don't have much to wager seeing as we were only able to escape the training center with only the clothes on our back..." Valeria offered. She smiled, "though I bet the easiest thing for us to play would be blackjack." "I was hoping you had some actual inside information," Val whispered back to the two. "That said Cal. I'm trusting you completely now but if you give me any reason to make me think you might be a mole for them sent to gain my trust we'll have to split ways. That said either way I won't kill you."
"I think for sure Sharlot is a peacekeeper now but if her AND Wallace turn out to be peacekeepers we should DEFINITELY check Wren and Eloise since those are the people they spent most of their time with," she added. "Right now if Wren is a peacekeeper he has everybody in the Capitol fooled and that's dangerous."
"Let's keep in touch with whispers and decide actions for tomorrow between the three of us before we do them. If we have to flee we'll go to the Market to aide whatever REAL allies we have there. I am 90% sure that Holly is our ally and by tomorrow I'll know about Demetri so hopefully we'll have at least two allies there if that's what it comes to."
((OOC: I hate how easy it is to screw up whispers. SO let me know you saw this.))

"Deo, I agree that you should spy on some of our friends today so that we know which ones are our allies come tomorrow" Val offered, "We're already checking on Demetri and Wallace so why don't you check on Eloise and Wren? The people in the Market spent the majority of time training with and participating during the training days so they are better equipped to hurt us if they were so inclined. The people at the hospital are "no ones" "
"Knowledge is our greatest advantage right now," she finished turning to the deck of cards being laid out.

Cal nods, shuffling the cards. He looks up at Deo. "Thanks man, let us know what you find out." He deals one card up, one card down to both Gwen, Val and himself. Checking his stack, he looks to Val, waiting for her move. "Sorry Val, this was the best I could get scrape together. I had tried to talk to Vester on the roof, seeing if I could gain some information or work my way back into gaining the trust of Peacemakers. I think he saw through it, only reminding me of my duty, and that we will all die if the rebels break through. Even if we aren't marching to his orders, I think this means he needs us alive more than dead. That's our only true advantage over him, we're too valuable to take out for now." OOC: I can see your whispers just fine He checks his watch, looking as the sunsets. "Looks like its showtime."

Val looks down at her cards. 38ZBWDxad11She was in a good position but obviously she'd need to get another card. "Hit me," she said with a grin. ((OOC: I think the game maker isn't happy that peacekeepers are defecting seeing as it tips the stacks the deck against the tributes. So he's telling us that even if fight for the rebels we'll TECHNICALLY lose. That said I like this RP and my character better than winning so fuck it.))
I agree even if we're not marching to his drum its better to have a horse in the race than not even if you're just sending it to the glue factory.
Lets make sure that we communicate between the three of us before making our next actions and/or move actions.
By the way what's your take on Deo you two? d11

He lays a second card out on top of Val's. OOC: Meant to say Peacekeepers in the last whisper. I realized that a while back, but I'm with you. If need be, I'm sure the GM has a few tricks up his sleeves to balance the odds.
"I'm not sure about Deo, haven't interacted with him much besides over that bacon bonding in the cafeteria."
"Thank you, Val. I wasn't sure what I was going to do after Wren had confronted Sharlot, and Vester put that gun to my neck. It makes no sense for me to try and re-infiltrate the Peacekeepers, I'm better off being open and honest with you guys and the rebels."
His eyes move to Gwen.
"The tributes cannot lose, I wouldn't be living if they died."
He takes a deep breath and looks back to Val.
"Is this why you are fighting the Capital? Do you have someone to protect, too?

"Aww, but I wanted to play spin the bottle," Gwen sighed, "but this will have to do." Gwen looks at her cards. JNep9ye_1d10(OOC: I'm getting both your whispers so far.)
Gwen looked down, "I don't know what it is, but I want to believe the best out of Sharlot. I can't give a solid reason as to why, but perhaps all the evidence just means Wren is a more straightforward guy. Kind of a bull in a China shop. He gets on my nerves, but he seems to have a naivete about him. Also, Sharlot was more than willing to help me out when I got the info about something written on the library wall. When I asked her if she knew anything about it she just told me right away," She shrugged. "Maybe that doesn't mean much."
Gwen looked out the window. "I know you guys are just trying to be safe, but I do really hope they are on our side. Maybe because of that I might not be the best at making decisions when it comes to them. I'll trust you guys on that." She smiles at Val and Cal, "You two are my priority anyways." 1d10

"Well, we could always just wager something a little more interesting Gwen..." she laughed. "C'mon Cal!" she grinned, "deal a hand for yourself!" "That's just the thing Gweny," Val whispered, "if you look at the four of them they all tried to seem as INTERESTED in Millie and her "no one dies" philosophy as possible, and don't you think that would be the PERFECT cover for a peacekeeper...aligning with Millie?"
"Trust me I wanna trust them as much as you," she added, "we've all become friends...and more...but yeah so far you two are my priorities right now so I just want to make sure that the two of you stay safe!"
