"Don't thank me yet Chatty," replied Demetri. "You still have yet to officially prove you're on our team. Don't think I forgot that. If you go behind our backs and hurt Gorgeous when we're gone, you become number one on my hit list."
"Oh and another reason why traveling together with the whole group could be a disaster," Demetri added. "We can't even get enough food for everyone when we're in the market. We shouldn't be competing with each other over food, we should be taking it away from the Peacekeepers. And we need to coordinate who's going for what so we're not wasting time (actions)."

"Holly, so would you suggest the market-staying person/people stay there the whole 5 days? Or pop into watchtower day 3 and/or 4 and return to market for big meetup day 5?"
There were so many possibilities. Wren hoped the rest of the group had been able to hear every option and possibility before giving input. These were all great ideas.
"Eloise, Wallace, Demetri, any opinions on meeting in market day 5 vs. meeting at hospital day 4? And any preference on where you go? I'd be okay either staying or going to watchtower."
Wren was surprised at Demetri's remark. "Hurt Eloise? My might-as-well-be sister? You give me far more credit than I deserve, sir. Like I said in the kitchen, I'm really looking for peace, and maybe some friends along the way. Backstabbing anyone would ruin both of those hopes. But still, I understand your caution. I noticed no one snooped on me yet, and for that I'm thankful. But I hope I can reassure you that I'm as rebel as they come. I came up with the name Phoenix Accord and wrote a book about peace in the alcove."

"Well, by then we may all have to retake the Market regardless and should we need to go to the Watchtower, we're a day's walk away. I just really don't like the idea of flying blind, possibly being in a bad position and being out of touch for so long before landing in the hospital and we won't have any idea what we're running in to. I'd prefer if the two that stay here keep in touch with our allies in the Watchtower. If they grind out food, we'll be in great shape when we get back, and we're within spitting distance of other things we might need, plus we'll have intel on the hospital and our allies might have gotten their hands on some. Watchtower crew will of course need to relay our plans well to them."
"Wren, whatever you say. Not all of us were invited into the alcove, remember? We just have to take each other at our word. Look, Wallace can Hack, and scavenge too if he does well right out the gate. Eloise can scavenge a ton. We can max out whatever supplies are here while our teams go elsewhere. Eloise has backup, you're moving light Wren but into ally territory and Demetri and I would have strength in well, a small number but we're tough."
Holly smiled at Demetri, if anything he had a steady loyalty. That's a comfort.
"Demetri, what do you say? You like my plan or you wanna do something different?"

Wren felt a little hurt by Holly's comments, but he couldn't blame her. He didn't have confirmation on her identity, either. Or Demetri, for that matter. But he was hopeful that they were worth trusting, as he'd hoped they trusted him in return.
"You're right. You have no more reason to trust me than I do to trust you. But I don't think Vester would openly shoot at a peacekeeper, though. I think he got pissed that a tribute had kissed a peacekeeper, and might have shot me to show the peacekeeper that this is what happens to rebels or anyone associated with them/helping them." Wren let out a sigh.
"Holly, that's a great point about going in blindly from the armory/depot side. I wouldn't want to put anyone in excess danger, as this is already dangerous enough with peacekeepers around. I'll scratch that idea of meeting at the hospital. So would you rather loop all the way around to the market-starting with armory-or would you go armory, depot, back to armory, market? If we split with someone going to watchtower and hospital for supplies, they could either cross paths with you between Depot and Hospital and recover where you've been or join up with you for whichever way you wanted to go."
"Unless no one goes to watchtower and hospital except for the armory group looping all the way around, and someone just held the market while others make their rounds. I'm getting a bit mixed up at this point...Sorry, guys. I'll stay quiet for a while I guess. I'm open to staying in market or moving to watchtower, whichever you think I'd be the most helpful."

"I guess it's up to the other group. Assuming Demetri is on board with he and I going to the supply depot and coming back. Whatever you and whoever you take decide to take do is really whatever you're comfortable with. But I think we should definitely keep looking for food here no matter what we do and redistribute when we're back."
Holly could tell Wren was upset by her comments but there was nothing she could do about that. We've all said we're in this together. No point sugar coating anything more.

Wallace blushed at what everyone said about him.
"I understand why everyone didn't distrust me... I only came this way because I saw Eloise and I was pretty sure she wasn't a peacekeeper... I'm not that great at getting to know others, spent too much time with computers I guess" Wallace smiled at that. "Sorry I didn't trust some of you either, but I'm hoping we're all on the same side." Wallace sat and listened to everyone's plans silently. Many of their ideas consisted of him either staying at the market to scavenge and defend against enemy hacks or to go off with Holly and Demetri in an offensive move into the armory. Wallace thought long and hard before speaking.
"I think our movement really depends on whether or not we want to be aggressive or defensive with our next move... We don't really know what is going on in the other areas, so it might be in our best interest to move cautiously. Plus, I'm sure everyone will be headed here once they have some way to defend themselves, getting food will be a popular idea." Wallace frowned "I'm all for defending against enemy hacks, but I'm no good at fighting, and shooting me is a better defense than trying to outdo me on a console. But then again we do need weapons to properly defend ourselves...." Wallace thought for another moment. "I guess me staying here and Holly and Demetri getting weapons is the best option we have. I can scavenge for more food while you're gone, meanwhile Wren should probably go in search of medical aid on his own seeing as you have allies in the next area. That way me and Eloise can stay and hopefully fend off any others who might try and take this Market from us. Also if Dante is headed here, it would be best if I had someone with me to explain that I am on his side, it would be unfortunate if he showed up to find me alone and killed me, not that I think he would be so rash, but we are in a warzone..."

Holly burst out laughing.
"I'm sorry I don't mean to laugh at the possibility of your death, Wallace. It really did not occur to me that Dante might kill you, it's not really funny I guess. Just a bit absurd that I had not considered he would. I've been so wrapped up in who is going where and what Dante might expect... I just didn't even think. Eloise, you should stay here. Wren, you NEED to get some medical attention. I think then... we're all on the same page? Demetri and myself will hit the Armory. Wren you go to the Watchtower and update our allies, get whatever info they need you to relay to us, find out what's going on in the Hospital and any info regarding Peacekeepers, alliance changes, etc and return. Demetri and Eloise can keep control of the Market and grind out some food for us all - unfortunately, yes, I think someone has to stay here and sit things out for the first few days until we see more play out and we have more resources. We can meet here on Day 5 after Demetri and I return from the Supply Depot. Is that right?"

Wren stayed quiet as long as he could while he listened to Wallace and Holly, which was difficult. His peculiar new self was rather chatty, as Demetri had thoughtfully pointed out with the nickname. He'd just been so quiet in Seven the thought of making friends was exciting.
"I'm good with that plan. I think it most clearly combines all of what we've said so far. Hopefully some of our allies either stay at the watchtower or come into the market to help out. I'm not great at scavenging but I'll gather and share what I can, even if it's just information. Although...if you two are staying here to gather more food, could I possibly borrow a snack or two for the journey? I couldn't find any here...and I think I'd be getting pretty hungry by day 5 without any." Wren looked hopefully at Eloise and Wallace.

"Looks like we're finally gonna get some alone time, Career," Demetri elbowed her playfully. "I couldn't think of a better first date than gun shopping to kill some Peacekeepers!"
"It seems you're better at hacking and spying than I am. I'm a pretty good scavenger (+2) so it might be the best use of our time if you hack and then find us a Peacekeeper. Meanwhile I'll grab as many guns as I can and toss you one. If it seems a favorable matchup we can light 'em up the next day. Sound good?"

"And suddenly your dreams come true, eh?" Holly shot back laughing. "I'm only a little better than average at hacking but I'll give that a shot first - as for spying let's see who we run into and we'll decide whose privacy I get to violate. If you can't carry any more guns after that, and assuming I didn't fuck anything up I can always try to find myself a gun too if needed."
Turning now to the other three she continued. "I guess that's leaves you three. And whether or not we all agree to meet back at the Market on Day 5. We'll ALL be in need of food on that night, since we have the most available to us here in the city and considering everything else we've discussed... I think it's best."

Wren nodded. "I'm good with the market day 5 plan. I'm not positive yet whether I'll loop around or backtrack, though. It depends on what I see and who I encounter along the way. But I'll do my best to make it back here." His stomach growled. "So... Eloise Sugarglider Wallace Barker would one of you be able to spare any food, assuming you'll get more tomorrow? And Eloise, are you okay with us splitting up? I know from the start I said I'd protect you, but I trust Wallace and I don't think the market will be too dangerous for you to handle. You're probably stronger than you think." Wren ruffled her hair.

"Hey, what'd I say about whiny bitches?" Demetri called over his shoulder as he turned to leave. "Toughen up, Chatty. It's too early for that begging shit." When Demetri and Career were out of earshot and on their way to the Armory, Demetri said, "Thank god we're splitting up. Another day with Chatty and I swear I'd have to strangle him. What do you make of him?"

Eloise had been working up the courage to say what was on her mind.
"No Wren. I'm not giving you any food. And you're not going anywhere. You're staying right here with me an we're going to look for food. Don't forget what Dante said this is war," she paused, "and sometimes you get shot. But that doesn't mean you have to go running off on your own to go find medical supplies. Suck it up, you'll be able to make it an extra day."
Tears started to well up in Eloise's eyes. "I'm just as good, if not better than everyone here at anything except for spying on people. I'll be damned if I let you die of starvation as you barely make it out of a watch tower that was last occupied by three known peacekeepers..(sob)..You'll be dead by the time any of us get there."
Eloise turned away from the group as she wiped the tears out of her eyes and caught her breath. Demetri was already running towards the Armory.
"Holly, go with him. And take Wallace with you. He's trustworth and you'll need his help to hack from the Armory. Especially if there are more people there. Hopefully Dante shows up here tomorrow so Wren and I will stay here and find as much food as possible. At the end of the day we'll head to the watch-tower." She looked at Wren, "together." We'll leave any information we find with any allies, if there are any and head for the hospital. We'll meet you on day 5 at the watchtower and share supplies. If everything goes well, Wren and I won't need food until day 6." Eloise looked around, "we can change the plan, but you're not running off into a horde of peacekeepers by yourself Wren. I don't care what alliances we used to have."

Wren stood in shock for a moment. No one but Egret had shown so much care for him. He walked up to Eloise and put his hands on her shoulders. "Shit. I didn't know you'd feel so strongly about this. I'm sorry. I'll reconsider staying another day, but this would affect the group. Everyone else wants to meet up at Market, not Watchtower. And that would be my main shot at getting med supplies and any other equipment... There's not even a guarantee I'd get food if I stayed and more people show up. Besides, there are at least 1 or 2 peacekeepers working for the accord. Not all peacekeepers are bad, only bad ones are bad." "Wallace, I guess if you want to go, I'll probably stay. But if you stay here, I'll have to keep thinking on this..." Eloise what did you find on Holly?

"Yeah, he can. We have an agreement. I trust him, and he trusts me. I'm not sure if you found what I wrote in the alcove about peace or heard my speech, but I believe peacekeepers and rebels can work together if they all believe in a common goal. Which Cal and I do, and it seems there might be others that feel that way..."
Wren was beginning sure to stress out. "Besides, we've already talked it out all day and I'd be turning my word on the group if I changed this late. Demetri already left. If you want to stick together so bad, follow me to the watchtower. Then we can decide to either move to hospital or back to market. But I sorta liked the original plan. If I can grab any weapons at the watchtower I could defend myself long enough."
"And why won't you tell me your info from spying? I thought we were sharing everything..." Wren felt defeated and confused.

Wallace did not expect Eloise's outburst over Wren and their plan, he wiped a hand over his face and readjusted his hat. "I can go wherever we feel I should go, but I think the worst thing we can do is leave me here alone, not trying to sound cowardly, but facing facts, combat isn't my strong suit." Wallace paced. "I'm not opposed to traveling with Demetri and Holly to the armory, in fact, we may need to be as aggressive as we can in controlling that area against the peacekeepers." Wallace thought for another moment, his gaze passing over Wren and then Eloise. "I think having Eloise and Wren stay one more day to collect food is best, then they can move on to try and get Wren some medical supplies, we will then move toward the armory and get what weaponry we can and attempt to capture the capitols systems there. We can then return and hold the market in hopes that our allies will make our way to us. This will ensure that we don't leave the market completely open while one group is gone at a time." Wallace furrowed his brow. "I don't exactly trust Wren yet... He seems desperate. If we all leave for the armory and he ends up staying with Eloise, he is weakened enough that if he is allied with the peace keepers he wont be able to kill her and if he hacks the systems back online we will know it was him." Wallace stopped "That is unless more peace keepers show up... I'm not sure I'm willing to risk Eloise's life without her knowledge."

Wren still wasn't sure... "If I stay another day, then move to the hospital, we wouldn't make it back by day 5. It'd be nice to all meet up, but maybe it's not necessary... Ugh I don't know!" Wren crumpled into a squat on the floor, holding his head.
"I agree attacking is useful, but we're not even sure who to attack. Watchtower could help with that. Or three of us could stay, but I'd never be back by day 5 if I headed out day 3. Agh! I'm just freaking out here, with minimal food, unarmed, and injured. Sorry. And Eloise, the fact that you haven't told me what info you got is getting suspicious. Sorry, but it is. I need to think..."

"Let us know what you decide Wren." Eloise rolled her tongue along the inside of her cheek. "You leave and I'll stay here with Wallace, which I wouldn't do if I didnt trust him. You stay and I think he should go with Holly. I wouldn't send him if I didnt trust her."
She glared right at Wren.
"And you'll put your trust in peacekeepers but not me?...Just go, it was the plan originally and I'm obviously not going to sway you."

"Eloise, I understand you're upset but we can't meet back at the Watchtower on day five. Demetri and I won't make it for another day and we'll be hurting for food - possibly injured - you can't ask us to keep travelling after how far we're about to go on our own. Wren is strong enough, he'll be alright and he is going to where ALL of our friends are. Unless you have some unknown reason not to trust the people we've all agreed to be in an alliance with... I don't know what worries you so much. The fact that you're so scared makes me worry more." Holly could see Demetri in the distance. I can't sit here and have last minute changes when one of our own has left thinking we were all in."Eloise, I know you're worried. But this plan is in motion. We have to hold the Market if we're going to take down the Capitol. You can get a lot of resources here and do a lot of good, Wren has to go if he's got a chance. And he's headed towards friends, I'm sure of it. Wallace can help you and I think he's proved he's trustworthy - at least to me. Demetri is gone, and I'm not leaving him alone. It's a little late to make changes. I'm sorry, I am, but we won't meet up on time with your plan and we won't hold the market or have extra supplies for us ALL." Holly turned to Wren. "You have a choice to make and I don't envy it. She may not like it but you know I'm right and we have to move." Demetri was almost out of sight. Damn, you jog fast. Not a bad view though. "I don't think Wren is a Peacekeeper. I'm sure of it. I think he's just excitable and wants people to like him. I'd keep your eye on Eloise. If Dante or Valeria show up... Even if Eloise turns on you, and I hope I'm wrong.... I do, but her speech just now really worries me... They may accept you. Just tell them Holly is looking forward to seeing them on Day 5... for a second slow dance in the market and you're invited. Tell them that and they'll know I trust you."

Wren felt something land at his feet. He picked up his head to notice Eloise had tossed some food at him and ran off. FUCK. I never meant for her to be upset... "ELOISE, I didn't say I didn't trust you! Eloise, wait!" Wren shouted at her, but it seems she'd ran to another room.
"Well...fuck!" Wren stood, pocketed the food, and punched a nearby wall. A few tears ran down his cheeks, but he didn't care to wipe them away. He just stood there for a while, his head resting against the wall, his hand throbbing.
Finally, he took a deep breath and turned to face the others. "Well...? What the fuck do we do? If I stay, I can't get med supplies AND be back here day 5. Is that as important, meeting up? I DO trust Cal, I'm not sure about the rest of the group that ran to the watchtower...I just need more info..." He looked at his arm, which was beginning to bleed through the makeshift bandage. "...and possibly medical attention."

Holly turned to Wren and nodded. "Do what you need to, but you know what Demetri and I are doing. I'm not letting him run into the Armory alone. Eloise can pout all she wants. This is a fine time for temper tantrums, but you need medical attention and frankly-" Holly could no longer contain her frustration, "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THE POINT OF A NEW ACCORD if its members let it crumble on the first day out?" Holly looked at each of the tributes she would be leaving and hoped they would follow the plan. I did what I could. It's your life. And mine I guess, but I'm not your mother.
"Wallace, I'm glad we got to know each other a bit better. I'm glad to have you with us." Holly wished them both well, it was a shame she couldn't say goodbye to Eloise. This is a war, and I don't have any time for dramatic displays, I wish it would have been on better terms...
She turned and left, running to catch up with Demetri. "Demetri, I trust Eloise a lot fucking less these days. Wren is excitable. I think he likes to be where the action is but his heart is in the right place... What the fuck does "No matter what alliances we USED to have mean?" Did you hear that before you were out of earshot? It worries me. I think it's possible she's trying to manipulate Wren... we need to keep an eye on her. Just a precaution."

Eloise had calmed down a bit and came back just to see Holly running off to the Armory.
"Wallace, tomorrow you and I should obviously try and hack the capital again, regardless of who shows up here. I'm better at finding food than you are so I don't mind doing that all day if you want to spend your time trying to hack the capitol. I don't think we should waste our time spying on anyone, unless Dante shows up. He was our key strategist but never made it here. If we can trust him we need to let him in on the plans, otherwise we need to keep food and information to ourselves. I know doing all the hacking could put you at risk, so we can split it up if you want."
She looked at Wren, " I can't promise that I'm going to just sit here for five days. If Dante makes it here, I might hop over to the Armory so we aren't just waiting here defenseless for four days, but I'll be here on Day 5 regardless.....Be safe."

Wren smiled at Holly's exiting shout. She was truly a very strong individual. He wished he could be as strong as her. And she had made a good point about the accord...why would Eloise be so upset at potentially meeting up with other Accord members? There was a reason Millie had told us all to work together...she knew what was going on. Wren had faith in Millie, as well as the Accord. "Wallace, stay here and protect Eloise for me? We do need to stick to the plan. I can't let everyone down. If anyone from the watchtower comes in with information, know that they're here to help. I believe we have some peacekeepers that are genuinely pro-accord and therefore not hacking." Wren was pleased to find Eloise coming out of her hiding spot. "Eloise, I'm truly sorry. I never meant to make you upset. I'm honored you're so concerned with my safety, but that's exactly why I need to go. I hope you can understand. This war is bigger than one person...it's for all of Panem. Please, have trust in the Accord if they approach you. There are some good people out there. You just have to look for them, or look for the good in them behind the scary title of 'peacekeeper.' Like I said in the kitchen, we CAN work together and bring peace." Wren took her hands in his and kissed her cheek. "I don't expect you to stay here the whole time. Use the watchtower or armory if you need to. Be safe, and be strong, little sis." Wren pushed his forehead against hers and released her hands before turning away. Wallace, You might need to spy on her. I can't tell if she was trying to manipulate me or was genuinely worried...I'd really love to trust her, but it's getting to the point where you almost need proof of everyone PLUS intentions. Please have faith in the accord members. I believe you can trust Val & Gwen, regardless of "peacekeeper" title. Make good decisions.
