When Jaffie had stomped off after their altercation at the arrival of the jabberjay, Alistair took to the trees for a place of quiet where he could sit and begin to learn how to upkeep his new weapon. He did feel bad about Tristan, he knew that their comrade was in trouble. But that alliance were out for blood and were all infinitely stronger than he was singularly. It was a death sentence. He didn't want to charge forth into battle with such terrible odds for his survival. If Jaffie was the emotional thinker of the duo, he had to be the realist. Tristan told him to watch out for her and god damn it, he was trying. But if there's anything he'd learned from his younger sisters, this was not going to be a walk in the park. Not by a long shot.

"You know you were right. Going after that Alliance? Those Careers? No, totally be suicide. and no offense dude, you're no fighter I doubt you could snap that branch." Ashton swung down from a tree, picking away at the quail he'd just captured. "At best, they'd kill you quick. Jaffe could probably take some of them out with that gun, but you'd both still die anyway." he shrugged, "There's literally no way to win here so might as well just cut your losses now." he stuck a feather in his teeth and grinned manically. Olive had disappeared so Ashton was taking the time to entertain himself until he could catch up with the Tower mate and he remembered liking Al from the tribute party. He made good drinks.
Ashton glanced at the fixed crossbow in front of him, scoffing "Yo, tighten that notch. You're not gonna be able to aim for shit if your notch moves every five seconds."

Ox approached the tree's where Alistair was sitting, he had his axe holstered and his hands up.
"Hey Al, I don't want any trouble man." He said calmly, he stopped walking once he was still a little bit away so he could make a run for it if Alistair went for an attack. Ashton was there too talking with him already. That was fine. Cool. Get them both to talk with him.
"Hey Ashton." He said tentatively.
"I know what you're thinking about the alliance over there, me and Arnie didn't come here lookin for trouble, and I think my friends are just trying to defend themselves from those two from District 1. At least... I just hope they didn't swing first."
Ox looked away for a moment thinking about what might be happening over there. "My friend Arnie is here with me too, we are just trying to make it through here same as you."

Al peered down from his perch at Ashton as the other boy swung down. "Really? Me? Not look like a fighter? Astute observation there, Steven Hawking. Hey, give me a little credit, I've made it this far. And once this thing's fully functional, I'll be able to hold my own...at least a few seconds before death." He held up the bow proudly. Really, this was a victory to him. When you're staring in the face of death, you really learn to appreciate the little things. Especially since Al knew how short his time was. "Oh yes, thank you. Give me a bit of credit, this thing was in half this morning."
When Ox approached them, Al peered down, setting his bow to the side. "Good. The axe is away. This isn't Black Hawk Down shit going on here. It's two dudes in a tree. You don't attack, we don't attack. White flag. Parlay." To show his sincerity he laid his bow to the side and held his hands up, letting Ox speak.
"That's nice sentiment man, and I think we're all on the same boat here. But that's exactly my point. We're all in the same situation. And I don't trust you as far as I can throw you, which I'll give you a hint, is not very far." He turned to face Ox but didn't dare climb down from his branch. There was no way in hell that was happening. Right.
"Look, I don't give a shit about either of those fools from District 1. Hey, have at them. Go nuts. Get one of 'em for me. Couldn't give a shit. I only slightly care about that District 4 guy, as much as we can care about anyone who is not a District partner in here. Hey, as long as we're all here and sharing, I can tell you that I will not attack first in here, yeah? You swing, I swing. It does not go the other way around. That's all there is. I don't want trouble either but if shit starts, then I'm gonna have to defend myself. We good?"

"Your vocabulistics is confusing my poor brain. Chill it there tiny." Ashton continued plucking some of the feathers out of the quail. "Hey, you think I can make a pillow out of--holy shit." Ox was approaching them?! Be still his poor District 10 heart; he honestly thought Ox would've gone to the Tower like the Jabberjay had said. But this was the Hunger Games and nothing could really ever be predicted anymore.
"Hey yo Ox!" Ashton half waved from his spot on the ground, eyeing him carefully. He was unarmed but still built like a brick shithouse. And he'd caught Ashton on the ground, he fingered the handle of his knife, watching Ox carefully. He'd wait for Ox to make a move on him, and if Ox only wanted to talk--well that was fine by Ash.
"It's good to see you looking not dead. Sorry about the knife man. Shit happens...but you got the ax so I figure we're even, right? Yeah, we are."
"Anton and Ingrid? Also built like brick shithouses. But you know what? Those Careers man, they get cocky as shit. And their will to survive is nein, Just outsmart them. Shouldn't be too hard, I'm pretty sure Anton's knocked out every functioning brain cell in that thick skull a long time ago."

Ox nodded toward them both.
"Yeah we're good. Glad we're on the same page. I might head over there soon, ill do my best to keep them from killing Tristan. I may be his only hope." Ox said gravely.
" I just... Don't really want to kill anyone. Fuckin hell." Ox said rubbing the top of his head.
" Best of luck to you all. I hope nothing bad comes around. I'll remember this when we meet next."

After the other tributes disperse, Jaffe climbs into the tree with Alistair to admire the setting sun.
"I think I'm okay now. I get what you were trying to say. If we headed over to the North tower we would be risking everything. Tristan, Seth, Alya, and The Shoemauchers are the five strongest tributes. We need to let them waste their energy on each other... Otherwise we would have to kill them ourselves."
She rested her head on his shoulder.

Al nodded and let a half smile leave as Ox was talking. He knew there would be a tentative peace agreement in the long run, there was no reason not to at this point. "Yeah, we're not necessarily a bloodthirsty people, us District 3s. Nerdy and a little bit mouthy, yeah. But not so much fighters. Bro, I don't think anyone wants to kill. But those are the breaks, I'm just trying to hold off as long as physically possible. I understand, man." He dangled his legs off and nodded towards Ox. "Thanks, man. It'd mean a lot if you would look out for Tristan if you went there. May your odds suck a little less."
When Jaffie climbed up the tree, he gave her a knowing look. "It really wasn't easy to say that, but it's our only option. I'm not exactly what you'd call an adrenaline junkie. Let them spend their energy there. It's gonna get bad anyway, might as well hold it off."

She looks at Alistair. "My father was part part of the resistance. He would help the different district rebels communicate with h each other using the capital radio towers. They found him though... They told him to give up all the people who worked with him or something terrible would happen. He didn't.... That's why I'm in the games. As punishment for his acts." She paused. "That's why I'm here. So my family can watch me get murdered or see there daughter turned into a capital tool. I wish there was an easy answer to all of this. I wish we could all be friends and work together... But we can't."

Olive sat in a tree a little bit of from the others well hidden behind the leaves... After hearing their conversation she decided they were right, now is not the time to fight, let the strong ones take care of each other... She jumped down with a smile and said "Well that's a nice sentiment, I will kill if I have to, not saying I want to but I know we can't all be friends forever, let's just stick together for now and see where it takes us?" she climbed up next to McCall and bumped his arm in recognision Hey, McCall, how you doing? she whispered when the rest of the gang seemed to be busy with other things

"Oh well you're nice." Ashton bumped her back. "I didn't expect to be spending my time kumbaya-ing but can't say I hate it." he passed her a feather from the quail, sticking it into her hair. "Could be nice, having something like a team to fight the MASSIVE BAT."
