Gaston knew exactly what he wanted to do. After helping his district mate out of the chariot he bid her farewell but that if she needed anything just grab his attention. Whether it was for comfort or merely to exchange information on sponsors or other tributes. After being flung in the air she may wish to avoid him, feeling that his plans might be over the top and honestly dangerous, however nothing could be as accurately true. These people got a lot of the same things over and over again. They needed to be exotic and memorable. Thankfully he had been wise to adorn what he did with the outfit. Turning their showmanship into evening attire really helped them look amazing for this. Some of the costumes were honestly just not right for this type of party, but he felt this battle armored turned tux was perfect.
When he walked in he noticed that the bar was to the left, which was a death trap. Straight ahead was the food and buffet, not a trap but for now you did not want people to think you were starving and only here for food. Many tributes would be overwhelmed by it; he however was going to head to the most practical location. His arms were quite tried but he just needed to push through it.
He moved with determination straight to the dance floor. It was the perfect place to meet as many people as possible and still talk. Each dance would be three to five minutes long and then he could go on to the next person. Sometimes trading during the dance was important. If he was drunk he would say or act stupidly, if he ate, he could not talk and get to know people, and if he danced and spoke to everyone he could make himself the life of the party.
First he walked in on a song as such he danced by himself. First snapping to a beat but then just putting those dancing lessons he took to work. His father wondered why he wanted to learn it and this was the reason. After the first dance he went to a woman and asked her to dance. He said who he was and answered the questions she asked as best he could. “No I have no siblings.”, “Yes I absolutely love the Capitol, it’s been my life’s dream to be here”, “My district mate is lovely you really ought to meet her”.
It went on like this for many people but finally he made it out of the dance floor to get a tiny break before he made out like a bandit once more. Spreading his name was key; he needed to be the hot topic. He made a scan to see what the other tributes were up to…and to seek other potential sponsors.

Anton was relieved. He had just gotten back from the hotel room and was now wearing an all black, tailored suit with a white tie. Also, he had been looking forward to having a moment separate from Ingrid to show the cameras that they could very well function on their own and that they weren't weird or twinsy. Besides, he knew she would be perfectly fine on her own too.
Anton scanned the room. The place was still fairly empty except for a small groups of tributes. He spotted the man from District 2 and decided to introduce himself. Anton strode over to where he was standing.
"Hey, you're District 2 right?" Then a smile crept over his face and he laughed. "Yeah that's right! You're the one who punched that other volunteer in the throat! That was hilarious!" Anton extended his hand. "I'm Anton, it's nice to meet you."

Ayla walked slowly onto the dance floor following Lane McGreer. She was curious as to what he wanted to talk to her about.

Lane led Ayla to the middle of the dance floor. As the next number started, he placed his hand on her lower back and led her in a slow ballroom dance. He moved confidently and swiftly and clearly had experience dancing. His new diamond-studded Schuhmachers glittered in the dim lighting as he stepped back and forth.
"I do hope you're enjoying your stay at the Capitol," Lane said brightly. "You certainly look the part. Your stylists have done a wonderful job, and of course it helps being such a natural beauty! Even during the reaping you had captivated Ms. Farrow. Ha ha!"
"So tell me, do you enjoy parties?"

Ayla danced in time with Lane, he clearly had more experience than she, but she was able to follow his lead.
"Thank you, it was really all my stylists I can't take an credit. I had never even worn a dress before I arrived here. I'm certainly enjoying all of the food. It's like nothing I've ever dreamed of. I'm still trying to get use to the cameras that are always on me. It's so strange having so much focus on me. The parade was a bit strange for me, getting all dressed up. I think I'll be more comfortable in the arena." She laughed,it sounded crude, but it was true.

Lane smiled, "You'll get used to the cameras in no time I'm sure! Just use that bright smile of yours and you'll be a star in to time! I'd put my money on that!"
Alya seemed to be following him well on the dance floor, so Lane tried adding some more complicated steps to see if she could keep up.
"You are quick on your feet, Ms. Farrow. What other talents will you be gracing us with?"

Ayla swayed her hips as she danced. She was surprised to find herself having fun, she never danced at home, but it seemed to come easily to her.
She considered his question "Well, I can't share all my secrets, can I? Like I said, there are cameras everywhere. But I can promise you that you'll find out in the arena." She flashed him her bright smile.
"What about you, do you like being a sponsor?"

He could not lie, the people of the capitol loved to party and wanted nothing more than to enjoy the night away. He simply needed to take a break from the dancing and watch what was going on. Low and behold though he caught the attention of another. His ears perked and looked over when he was referenced as District two. Gaston straightened himself and noticed that it was the man from one.
He complimented his aggressive behavior in his reaping, smiled and put a hand behind his head acting embarrassed. He gave him a genuine smile and when a hand came out Gaston nodded and took his hand firmly. The man’s name was Anton and apparently he had a sister in these games. Much be quite a rush for the family.
After letting go of his hand he put a fist to his own chest a gave a small bow saying, “A pleasure to meet you Anton, my name is Gaston Gallant, as you know from District 2.” He relaxed after this and said, “I really liked your chariot. No one will ever forget your name these games. I honestly should have thought of that.”
If anyone saw them, while this was just small talk, it was two of the six main careers talking to one another. It was very entertaining for him. People liked it when the top dogs got together and if anyone had more on their head for what they expected it was Anton. A lot of pressure indeed.
“There are quite a few volunteers this year, it really means that us doing it is not quite as impactful. We really have a lot on our plates this year as careers. Though honestly I just plan to enjoy this for as long as I can.” He really loved the Capitol. If he could one day be here every day then his dream would be realized.
He looked to Anton though and merely asked, “So it must be a double edge sword to have your sister come with you. Hopefully not too many family quarrels causing that?” It might be a sensitive question but Gaston was not one to beat around the bush.

Anton returned Gaston's firm handshake. Gaston then complimented the his chariot and Anton could not help but burst into laughter. Though he knew he should compose himself. After all, it had worked on one sponsor and he had to give his father that. "Thank you! It was nice to see all the faces of my family who have all won the games before there with me and Ingrid."
Gaston continued, “There are quite a few volunteers this year, it really means that us doing it is not quite as impactful. We really have a lot on our plates this year as careers. Though honestly I just plan to enjoy this for as long as I can.”
Anton nodded, "I noticed that too. But that's what the training days are for; to sort out the real talent away from the idiots." He gave a short laugh and then gave Gaston a friendly nudge. "Don't worry, we'll just have to show them what it means to be a professional at this game."
The conversation then took a quick turn as Gaston asked about both him and Ingrid being in the games together. It took Anton by surprise, though he admired the man's initiative. "Oh, not at all. It's just family tradition to send the oldest Schuhmacher into the Hunger Games and since me and Ingrid are twins, that changed things up. Originally my dad just wanted me to go, but with Ingrid training her whole life for this, it just seemed unfair to not let her come with me. Especially since she scored better than me at the training academy!"
Anton then noticed a figure in black walking away with a giant camera. "The Capital sure loves their District 1 and 2 alliances. Do you think we can give them another round?" He turned toward Gaston and flashed his perfectly white teeth. Anton knew that he might be shooting the gun a bit early, but he also knew that the sooner he secured this alliance, the sooner the sponsor points would begin to roll in.

"What do I like about being a sponsor? I think I have an eye for when things are about to happen. I like to be first to place my bets on a rising tribute. Buy in at a low rate and see huge returns when they outperform the others. I'm just waiting for..."
Lane cut himself off, distracted by a nearby conversation.
"Excuse me, Ms. Farrow," he said, abandoning her on the dance floor to stand among the tributes from districts 1 and 2.
Lane interrupted Anton and Gaston's chat. "Two of the strongest, most handsome tributes in the competition teaming up? Well I'd certainly bet on those odds. You know, McGreer Foods would be happy to supply bread to a winning combination like that!"

Seth took a deep breath. Just try not to focus on all the people. Make a good impression and get out. Seth entered the ballroom looking straight, never turning his head to take in the surroundings. He was so focused he missed a couple celebrities who had called out his name to introduce themselves. Seth limped onto the dance floor. Ayla was standing by herself. She looked stunning.
"Hey you," Seth said as casually as he could leaning on his cane in he the hoped was a casual pose. "You look like you need a dance partner."

Anton beamed as Lane McGreer entered their small conversation, his timing could not have been more perfect.
"Mr. McGreer! It's a pleasure to meet you and thank you for that generous offer!" Anton extended his arm for a firm handshake and then looked down at the floor and he flooded his face with surprise. "That is a fine piece of footwear you have chosen for tonight, sir. I know my father, would love to have thanked you personally for your purchase, but allow me to offer you this gift." Anton pulled a gift card with a small, tasteful diamond in the center of a generous amount out of his breast pocket and handed it to Lane. "Please, compliments of the Schuhmachers'." Anton smiled broadly.

Mr. McGreer left suddenly, and Ayla was alone on the dance floor. Just a moment later she saw a familiar face, Seth's. He was asking her to dance.
"But of course!" She reached for him and began to dance. She tried her best to provide him with extra support as they danced, without drawing attention to it.
It felt nice to be around Seth again, she felt like she could just be herself, and avoid the small talk "I missed you, where have you been?"

Gaston smiled and laughed with him when he commented on his chariot. Honestly he really did think he should have done something like that, though once again not pissing off Emerald was a close second in his mind of things he should not do. Having union for his district was currently vastly more important than any plan that he could muster up to embolden himself, though he would also need to do that as well.
For the real talent to sort out the idiots. Gaston was certain that would show. One, two, and four were the big numbers during these games. Gaston personally wanted Anton to, well not trust, but come to realize that to get anywhere they would need each other. The trick now was to get their female counterparts to agree it was a good merge. That and the fact that with them together, it would draw the others towards them. Gaston heard nothing of anyone else yet even speaking, let alone, getting along so quickly and almost openly showing companionship.
Yes, we will show them all. Gaston smirked and it flashed only a moment but it was indeed an evil smirk.
Anton admitting to him that his sister scoring better was a fault on his own character. Gaston had to assume that he was the more social butterfly of the two and she was the real…well killer. That or Anton might be more about his Survival skills. They were a duo partner through and through. It would be hard to defeat them in the end if they were together, but he figured they must have exploitable weakness’ separate. It is what eventually, long ways down when it would be down to the last what fourth or so that this mattered. That was of course if they even made it that far.
That was his plan though; right now get one and two to the end. Let’s see how long this lasts. Hopefully long.
A camera man shot forward and mentioned how they loved this type of alliance. He put a hand on Anton’s shoulder and smiled as brightly as the man next to him. Yep, this would be official in the Capitol’s eyes. He wanted every Tribute to know that one and two were now a power duo, and let them wonder if there would be others in this one.
Mr. McGreer approached them. He was a Sponsor for the hunger games and honestly quite a big one. Thinking about things put him behind. Anton immediately took advantage of the Sponsor’s attention. He even offered him a gift, a thing that Gaston simply could not compete with. Gaston smiled and watched as Anton made it very clear who this sponsor was for. He was going to be District One’s. This meant that Gaston would not win in a Sponsor war here…this was Anton’s world. He smiled though and said, “Me and Anton are going to dominate these games and let the other sponsors know. If they wanna win, they better consider the careers.” Gaston made an effort to shake Mr. McGreer’s hand and then patted Anton on the shoulder. “I’ll catch you later, and keep you informed. God Speed my friend.”
With that Gaston bowed to both and moved on from the dance floor. It was a successful maneuver. Gaston waved to the two from District Five, knowing full well he would need to speak to everyone sooner or later. He wanted to mingle a bit more though and spread out before this party ended. He gave them a call me sign with his hand, and moved on to another part of the party.

"Sorry it took me so long," Seth said placing one hand on Ayla's right hip, his other hand still grasping his cane. Ayla reached under his arms to try to hold him up and he let her. He lifted his cane off the floor to place both his arms around her.
While everyone spun, swung, and dipped around the floor, Seth and Ayla stood still in the center of the ballroom swaying slightly.
"I almost didn't come to the Feast," said Seth softly. "I'm not the best at dealing with crowds, and you can probably guess why. I had to trick myself into believing there was nobody in here." Seth looked into Ayla's eyes and smirked. "So I apologize for staring. I'm just trying really hard not to look at anything else."
