Gaston was a tiny bit nervous. Actually, he was not. No, now that he thought about it, he was just plain excited. Most people seemed to be caught up in their own little world. Everyone probably had their own plans for how to draw attention. He hoped that Emerald was athletic enough to hold out during the middle section. He would catch her and he would be tossing her, even if she was not totally up to par, he would make things work. He simply had to make things work. He set up this entire production and they would love it, they would eat it up and not look anywhere else. He needed this more than any of them. He needed to be seen.
Once Emerald showed up, he admired her. Their bladed battle armor glittered in the lights of everything else. They did not look like people ready for glamor; they looked like they were ready to storm the capitol. He explained the plans to the stylist hoping that they would be able to do it and it seemed easy enough. Hopping up onto the chariot, he reached his hand down to help her up. She could choose to take it or not it was up to her. Once she was in the chariot, he said with excitement, “I know you’ll do great, smile and do not be afraid. I bet my life you will never fall out of hands.” She was a big key to this. Tossing her into the air would be what drew so much attention. The flashing lights, to draw attention, everything for attention. He needed it and he looked forward with extreme confidence. “We got this Emerald.”
Shifting a little the chariot took off. He looked forward. “Hard faces now, we need to look determined, then happy and entertaining, and then, finally, elegant and beautiful.” He stared straight ahead, not much for waving or moving. Not until he felt they were thirty-three percent of the way did he look to her and smile. “Ready?” Once she nodded he did exactly what he said he would. He lifted her into the air hands holding hands would her legs high above anyone else. He started to toss her. Smiling to the crowd and waving in-between catching her. He would have to do this like ten to fifteen times before nearing the end. He wondered what it was like to fly through the air like her, she was above all of this.
Every time he caught her never once letting any part of her go below his head, their armor clanged like the sound of swords clashing and their armor shot out light, like sparks were flying. Gaston started laughing at his own brilliance and just the mere spectacle of it. This happened quite a few times before he looked up to her and said, “Now land!” With one great push he tossed her, caught her wedding style set her to the ground quickly. And he held out his arm for her to pound into his making an X.
Their battle armor would fall off, revealing an elegant tuxedo and a bladed dress for her. He was sweating but kept a calm appearance, looking like he was bored with the whole thing. He smiled though it all and taking her hand, he bowed with her and then waved to the crowd a little setting their chariot to the end of the road.
Let’s see how they like this.
