Ox had gotten to his designers as quickly as he could. His head designer did not even deign to look at him until he had been groomed by his underlings. They scrubbed his skin raw and painted his ebony skin with a weird goop in artistic formations around his face and his hands. It did not show up very well on his dark skin and Ox flushed a bit when they laughed at him for mentioning it. Thankfully they did not cut his hair, which he left long and braided, they said that it went nicely with their design. Small bulbs the size of peas were placed in his hair in varying places, dark enough to blend in with his hair. Finally he was dressed in a body suit from head to toe with an intricate black belt with tiny bulbs similar to the one in his hair.
Ox ran his hand along one of his arms and found that the suit felt like the cool and dense consistency of fresh dark soil. It made him feel nostalgic and miss the fields despite how hard he worked in them under the lash of the whip. But his designer soon scolded him telling him "Try to keep from touching yourself for 5 minutes ok?"
Finally he saw his District partner clad in a similar costume in a chariot that looked fairly boring and black, but once again when Ox climbed in and placed his hands on it, the familiar texture of soil greeted his rough hands once again with a quiet and loving embrace. Ox looked at Alicia and smiled at her, leaning over to whisper in her ear "here we go." As they were wheeled out right after District 10 Ox was blown away by the crowd that was screaming after the rest of the tributes, he let a wide white smile run rampant across his face, this was his chance to make a great first impression.
But before he could even make a move he felt his hair and his suit begin to wriggle and move, he began to panic for a moment before noticing the blooming plants that covered his and his partners bodies. His skin lit up, the makeup that lined his face and hands became aglow with white light. The plants on his suit were deep and autumn colors of harvest, wondrous plants sprouting from his hair. Ox grinned in wonderment and turned to Alicia and picked her up with his monstrous strength and held her above his head to show the crowd how wonderful the both looked together. Once he had turned her around in a graceful circle only his wondrous strength could maintain he placed his upon his shoulders and waved to the crowd fervently.
They had arrived, and they were there to win.
