Jessie got to the district 12 hotel room first. It was much nicer than anything he was used to. However, now was not the time to lose focus. He knew the risks involved with the games when he volunteered, and he wouldn't let himself get too comfortable when so much was at stake.
"Alright now what should district 12's float be hmm..." He spoke to himself as his district mate had not quite yet arrived. He started to jot down some ideas that he had.
"We are primarily known for our mining facilities in district 12 but that is not a very fancy theme. So we could do a hiking theme which might be somewhat more appealing while still staying somewhat close to our roots since hiking is related to the mountains that we mine in.
Another idea is to focus on the explosions needed in mining. Explosions are cool. Not looking at explosions behind you is cool. We could do a "too cool for everybody cliche." Have a light projector rock slides coming at us as we continue walking unphased or something."
Jessie put down his pen for a bit. "Hmm... I hope my teammate gets here soon."

V enters the extensive suite with a slack-jawed, wide-eyed gaze that bore out the fact that she had never seen such opulence. Nothing as luxurious, expensive, or even as modern as what lay before her. She began to explore the apartment; touring around the sleek modern furniture, the high vaulted ceilings with exquisite chandeliers, the floor-to-ceiling windows and the vistas that lay beyond; when she noticed the new tribute speaking to himself in the corner. "Oh, hiya there!" she said chiply, (OOC: try to read this all in one breath) "I'm V, what's your name? Sorry I'm a bit late but I seem to have gotten a little lost. I guess we're supposed to be working on our parade for the opening ceremonies, I have a few ideas in mind and we don't have much time to spare. I'm just going to rattle a few things off and we see what we like. First we could do sort of a mine collapse/gas explosion where the chariot is a mine cart and there would be flames chasing us along the course-way. For costumes, maybe we could have dusty coveralls, but not normal ones like we have in district 12 but like really really nice ones like they;'d have if they had coal mines here in the capitol, and they'd be all dusty and grimy cause people here have never worked in a mine so it would sorta show like what it would be like if they had to actually work in one. *PHEW* Whatcha think?"

"Well I just told the committee my ideas for our chariot ride, if you have anything else to add to it I'd suggest letting them know before it's too late." She gazed awkwardly at the ground for a second before continuing. "So what's your favorite kind of tree? Mines the Western Birch. It's got really pretty white bark and in the fall the trees turn the most perfect shade of gold. They also usually house cicadas every once in a blue moon. Well actually every seventeen years, they have a mass cyclical spawning but you can see them around in smaller numbers every so often." ... "You don't talk much do you?" she asked after a while.

"Oh sorry I didn't see you there. I guess I just got lost in thought (ooc: or time when I look at the forums poorly). I like your idea. Since I guess we are close to the deadline and each have our own things to do, I will try to expand on it as much as I can."

(OOC: it's cool, we've all got stuff going on IRL. I think we can just keep this thread open to discuss other upcoming events and such) "SO what are you plans for the next few days before training begins? I'm absolutely starving so I'm going to go get something to eat, but we should meet up later. Go exploring or meet some new people" she said with a warm smile.
