Gwen waited nervously in the room Val found the other day.
Why am I nervous?
The day spent without Val and watching Cal and Wren's relationship made her realize she didn't want to lose Val. It was terrifying. She had never felt this way about anyone before. She sighed.
What a time for this to happen, too.
The harsh realities of what the end of the war would mean weighed heavily on Gwen's mind. She shook her head. Not right now. Right now, she just wanted to enjoy the moment.

Val stood outside the entrance to their impromptu dance studio. She could see Gwen from here but she seemed lost in thought.
There has to be someway out of this alive right?
For the first time since this had all started Val regretted her decision to ultimately doom herself. Prior to this she saw it as a necessary sacrifice but prior to this she didn't have anything to...lose.
But at least she'll live right?
The harsh realities of what the end of the war would mean weighed heavily on Val's mind. She shook her head. Not right now. Right now, she just wanted to enjoy the moment.

Gwen slowly realized Val was standing at the door. A grin spread across her face as she skipped over to her.
"Ready for your lesson?" she grabs Val's hand and pulls her to the middle of the room. "This time, I'll lead," she said with a smirk.

Gwen went through the motions. It was not her best, but much better than her noodle dance from last time. A giggle escaped as she lead Val through flowing motions and a few swirls. This was good. This felt right. She felt like she did before the alarm at the training tower. Light as a feather.1d10+1

Gwen pulled Val out of her own thoughts and onto the dancefloor, "are you sure that bullet wound won't hold you back again?"
No sooner had the words left her mouth she had to put her foot firmly in it instead. Gwen was leading her around the dance floor effortlessly and beautifully.
"This is amazing," she thought to herself, "she's exuding such a sense of power and energy but she's floating across the floor like a feather on the wind."
"I guess your wounds have healed, Gwen," she said holding her closer on the dancefloor, "lets see if I can keep up."

Val had never been a dancer and it showed. Her form wasn't all there and she had no technique to speak of but in that instant, there in the watchtower, she felt as though she was a virtuoso of the craft.d10+1

"Want to take the lead?" Gwen said, laughing. "The bullet wound feels better, but you still get away from me. Have you been practicing while we were apart?" She grinned and let the dancing slow down. As the dancing slows her thoughts started to return to her mind. She sighs and rests her head on Val's shoulder.
"Val... When this is over... do you... what do you think will happen?" her voice trailed to a whisper, fearing the answer. Fearing what she knew to be true this entire time. What she put in the back of her mind, thinking that it wouldn't effect her, but things change.

"Don't mind if I do," Val replied moving her in a free floating pattern around the dance floor.
She smiled when she felt Gwen bury her head into her shoulder but as soon as the sigh escaped Gwen's lips she knew what was coming next...
"Gwen," she replied, "As much as we don't want to think about this I think...I think we have to..."
Valeria pulled back so that she was looking Gwen in the eyes, "maybe when the force fields come down we could just...run...just let the revolution do its thing and wait it out until the peacekeepers are forgotten."
She pulled Gwen in for a kiss. "We'll make it work somehow. I-" she stuttered, "I was afraid to say this before because I didn't know if it was something I could keep but..."
Valeria kissed her lightly on the forehead, "I promise we'll figure something out."

Gwen sunk into Val's kiss. Tears sprung to her eyes at Val's words. She had hoped so much that Val was thinking the same.
"I'm glad you were thinking the same. Shit, Val, at this point I can't imagine you not being...," Gwen brushed away some escaped tears. She looked into Val's eyes as a relieved smile appeared on her face. "I'm glad we're on the same page," she kissed Val. "We'll figure something out."
Gwen chuckled to herself, "I never thought I would get to this point, you know? Definitely thought I would be dead by now." She looked wistfully towards the other room, "Do you think your matchmaking worked on Holly and Syd?"

Val smiled a small tear trying to make its way out of the corner of her eye as well, "It doesn't matter where we thought we'd be today" She pulled Gwen down with her onto a couch along the wall, "What matters is that neither of us is ever going anywhere else ever again." "Now let's enjoy...right here," she grinned, "we should probably give those two a moment to prepare themselves for the date don't you think?" Fade to "grey"?
We probably don't have enough time before the date for "black"

Gwen grinned back at Val. "Yea, I suppose we should give those two a minute," she pulls out a pair of handcuffs she snagged before leaving the other room, "or two... or several." Gwen winked at Val, "We can just say there was a lot of work to do on your dancing." Your call.

"I think you're right Gwen," she grinned, "I have the footwork down but I can't seem to figure out what I should be doing with my hips..." Screw it.
Black.
