ooc: feel free to post here with ideas, opinions after or during the Sydney/Cal clean-up meeting. Wren sat at the control desk and looked out the window at the hospital and market. Both seemed like valid options for their next move; however, he was afraid they would lose points if they clumped together for another day. The only reason he could think of for everyone to stick together would be to take out a known enemy, and the only one he knew of now was at the Market. He drew out a map and wrote the names of who he could see in each location… Market: Sharlot, Wallace, Nelson, possibly a random peacekeeper, and it looked like Minerva was on her way over as well Tower: Val, Gwen, Lartius, Holly, Wren, Cal, Syd Hospital: Julian, Thomas Also Known: Eloise is at Depot He then wrote lists of factors that would affect where everyone went:
3 points today = Tower, rest are unknown. Known rebels at Market, Depot, Hospital so one of those has lost their hack for the day
Injured: Wren (worst?) Gwen, Cal, anyone else?
Hungry after day 6: Cal, anyone else? And do we share with him before moving? He’s at 4 I think
Armed: Wren, Lartius, anyone else?
Expected movements:
Eloise mentioned wanting to return to the hospital. Last we knew, she was also armed but might have used them at the Depot.
(Double-whispering to fit everyone in, in case Minerva illegally creeps on this. Yay, too many allies!) He then wrote lists of factors that would affect where everyone went:

Assuming the meeting went well, Cal walks into the room, giving Wren a small smile as he looks over his map and notes. "Mind if I give a few points?" Looking over Wren's notes, he begins to write a few in the margins, new sources of info and corrections.
Injured Elaborated: Cal is at 6 hp, after today is done 5 hp due to starvation.
Hungry after Day 6: Cal, hungry now, 5 food total. Please only feed this Peacebringer if everyone else is accounted for first.
Armed: Eloise left for the Hospital with a fully loaded SMG. Thomas indicated he is also armed. We'll have to verify if they still have ammo tomorrow. Looking over Wren's notes, he begins to write a few in the margins, new sources of info and corrections.

Holly joined them, glancing over everyone's notes before sitting on a chair nearby she kicked her feet up and closed her eyes. "Looks like you've got everything right. Considering the announcement, I think we all need to move as a group and go to the Hospital, we need morphling for many of us. Cal, I'd give you some food if I had it. As it is I'll make it through the day but not much longer." "Together we can deal with a single Peacekeeper and continue to search for resources, increasing our odds on both fronts but admittedly, decreasing our resources spread. Splitting up, we'd lower our survival during assaults, but may have better individual chances at resources. I'm open to what the group thinks, but I think we're powerful together."
"Wren, is Eloise heading to the Hospital? Do you know if she stockpiled food like we asked?"

Sydney looked over the note and nodded. "You guys know more about this plan than I do, truthfully. The Hospital wasn't exactly swarming when I was there and it shouldn't have changed too much."

Wren looked over Cal's notes and added more detail as well. He wasn't sure on the complete status of Val, Gwen, Lartius, or Sydney, so he hoped they would chime in or that someone else would know more details. He figured he knew Holly's condition based on conversations. Injured: Wren 5, Cal 6, 5 if no one will share food, Gwen are you 6?
Food: Holly, Gwen, Wren 6 correct? Cal, 4, Val 7? Would you consider giving one to Cal? Lartius and Sydney, unknown...
Anyone with 7 or more days of food should consider spreading it out to people below 6 days of food, especially if the hungry ones are also injured. I'd share if I wasn't already down on health.
So, are we making a risk of a large group moving together again? Are we splitting with some staying, some moving in either direction? Are we going to prioritize most injured go to hospital, and how would we decide who gets the morphling if we manage to find any?
(We should either double whisper to include everyone or just forget whispers and assume Minerva won't use the info...don't leave out people) Injured: Wren 5, Cal 6, 5 if no one will share food, Gwen are you 6? Cal nods, reading Holly and Wren's faces as they discuss strategy. "We definitely have strength in numbers, we should be able to retain control over wherever we move to. Don't worry about the food, my hunger can wait, the revolution cannot." Cal looks over what's been added, shakes his head, correcting a bit of Wren's work.
"I'm actually at 5 food, Eloise was kind enough to lend me food yesterday before we parted. She had looted the ration that day, and had said beforehand she was the only one at the Market Day 3 to have enough food for the trek to the Hospital and back. That means she was at 7 food, went up to 8, then back down to 7 for me."
"As far as food priority goes, I agree with what Val said earlier. Rebels get priority, their hacking skills are too valuable to lose to starvation."
Cal looks over the map, he proposes two strategies. Taking a green marker, highlighting it as #1, he circles the Market, Watchtower and Hospital. With a red marker, he draws a line starting from the Market, circling clockwise around the map, ending with an arrow at the Supply Depot marked #2.
"Option #1: Split and fortify. We have a lot of allies in the field who will need support against the peacekeeper tributes in addition to whatever Venser has planned for us. We would have to divide our forces based on the needs of each point. This would allow us to better fight starvation by spreading resource needs and to make continued efforts against stubborn resistance. The main weakness is the lack of flexibility, communication would be difficult to maintain, and the lack of overwhelming numbers."
"Option #2: Rolling offensive. By having a large force in the front, we can overwhelm each point, guaranteeing at least one point capture while eliminating resistance. The group would march forward to the next point, while the rest of the Accord follows two points behind. We'd send one or two people to grab our friends from the Market, move the group forward to the Watchtower for Day 8 while those we leave here moves on to the Hospital the same day. We'd also have the option of letting injured members hang back at the Hospital to scavenge for Morphling, tend their wounds and defend the point. Weaknesses include higher resource strain for the offensive team, we'd be running blind into the Supply Depot Day 8, less consistent point control." Wren looked over the options.
"My gut's telling me this thing will be over by the end of day 8, unless we allow them to take too many points on either tomorrow or day 8. I think maintaining 3 points per day would be an easy objective, despite being split up. I hope our friends in the other locations are keeping track. For now, I don't see much point in planning beyond day 8, maybe at least a movement plan for going into day 9 at the most."
Wren considered their list of known allegiances. "If Lartius was correct on Gillian, then we know of 11/12 rebels. That leaves either of the random two dead tributes (Travis & Lucan), or Julian, or Anna as the last rebel. Did anyone have info on Lucan or Travis before they bit it?"
"So, while hospital would obviously be the best bet for our injured members, anyone hoping to go offensive should consider Market or staying at the tower. We know of two targets that way, and potentially only one directly next to us in the hospital but he's not confirmed...So I think it comes down to: supplies, survival, and hacking points as priority VS. Offensive approach with wiping out competition."

Holly considered what Cal had laid out, but Vester's instructions on the emergency line had her questioning the plan being laid out. "Cal, even if you prefer we favor others with food... I'd like to be able to take care of everyone. You're no good to anyone if you're dead. And if you die, your boyfriend is gonna be pretty wrecked." "I think we're making a mistake moving forward the same way we have been. I think we should send the injured - Wren, Gwen and Cal to the Hospital to scavenge for morphling and food between them, Gwen can hack if necessary."
Holly looked to Val and Gwen, this wasn't ideal for them of course but it seemed logical. I wish this didn't make sense to me and you could stay together.
"Sydney, Lartius, Val and myself should go to the Market. We'll all locate food, and if possible we should take out Minerva as she's a liability. Alternatively, lartius can stay here to maintain the Watchtower as he has food for one more day I believe."
Holly sighed. I was hoping when we all escaped this much murder wouldn't be ahead of me...
"I think until we know more about these... game pods, we can't act as we have been. I think we should hit the Market and the Hospital for now and regroup here the day after bringing any rebels we find with us. Hopefully, by tomorrow we can gain more insight into what the Game Maker has coming for us."
Holly pointed with both hands to the Watchtower on the map and drew a semi circle with each in opposite directions.
"We meet back here, and then split according to need, hopefully cutting off any Peacekeepers still running from us and dividing resources as responsibly as we can. There isn't an opposite point from here, so I'd prefer to go to the Armory, and whoever comes with me can camp out and start hoarding weapons with me for an extra day, the group that goes East and South through the Hospital and Supply Depot would meet us then and we can redistribute supplies. Assuming of course... that this goes on that long. We can discuss back here in two days."
After tallying in her head Holly offered what she knew of all the tributes. "Anything I'm missing here?"
Tributes: Demetri , Thomas , Holly , Gwendolyn , Eloise , Wren, Wallace, Lartius, Nelson
Peacebringers: Sydney, Cal, Valeria
Peacekeepers: Sharlot, Harlie, Minerva
Unknown: Anna , Julian , Reese (I suspect they are Peacekeepers)
Dead: Travis, Kenda, Dante, Deo, Janet, Gillian, Lucan "I think we're making a mistake moving forward the same way we have been. I think we should send the injured - Wren, Gwen and Cal to the Hospital to scavenge for morphling and food between them, Gwen can hack if necessary."

Cal looks over Holly's additions to their pooled information. He nods at the expanded strategy. "With Vester's surprise move, that does complicate things. And point taken, starving Peacebringers is bad for morale." Cal considered Holly's proposal, finding it to be the better of the two choices. He had a few concerns, but decided to only raise tactical points instead of personal.
"I'm only concern is whether or not we are leaving our secured points with enough support to remain under our control. Lartius alone can keep the point just fine, assuming of that neither Sharlot or an unknown Peackeeper comes up here. At the same time, those pods may be launched at every location. We're not sure if a single rebel can handle whatever is in them and retain the point by themselves."
Thinking for a moment, he snaps his fingers.
"After Day 7, rather than have both large forces collapse on Watchtower, we send a partial force from each point to back up the Watchtower garrison. This would allow for a more efficient resource spread and control point security. Communication will not be complete, but we'll have updates from both fronts to coordinate new strategy if this is drawn out beyond Day 8. Each force would have to decide who stays and who goes, maybe the members in the best shape hold their respective forts while the injured withdraw to the Watchtower. We can't plan for that now, but we can figure out numbers that we're comfortable with."
Looking at the rest of the empty room, he understands everyone is busy at the moment but still wishes they were here.
"And of course, I'd like input from anyone who has it to offer. If you have an idea or issue, please speak up." Cal considered Holly's proposal, finding it to be the better of the two choices. He had a few concerns, but decided to only raise tactical points instead of personal.

Wren nodded. "I like what Cal said. And shit, I forgot about Harlie. She's either at Depot or Armory now, then. Dante told me Reese was rebel, but that's Dante's word....so...yeah. Lartius told me Gillian was rebel, so those two were included in my count. It could be more like 9 or 10/12 known." "I think coming back here day 8 would be a waste, especially if we could win by that day with 3 points per coming day. I say we do Cal's plan, two groups move with Lartius as a swing (stay or go), and then we can either continue moving to Depot and Armory day 8 as full groups OR leave 1-2 behind in each group and have us split across 4-5 locations on day 8." oco: Still doing duo-whispers. I don't know how to combine more than 5 people... =/ "I think coming back here day 8 would be a waste, especially if we could win by that day with 3 points per coming day. Sydney bit her liop before she responded, it wasn't so much that she had a preference but she'd like to see for herself that her District mate was doing okay. It was going to be a long march to death anyways, she might as well bid her buddy adieu. "I'm at 7 food level right now, I got very very lucky with all my scavenges the first few days and I can definitely hold up a Rebel foodwise should we need it, I've only taken one damage so far so it's not like I can't handle it. I'd like to go to the Market to scavenge if at all possible but I'm not sure I want to be by myself on that front, I tried to hold the watchtower when Wren and Cal left the first time but unfortunately we didn't have the physical manpower to out-hack the Peacekeepers because I couldn't."

Gwen all but skipped into the room with a big grin on her face. The announcement made worried her, but seeing everyone dealing out plans was a comfort. Three Strategists should have everything covered. She didn't know what else of use she could possibly give to the group. Hey, guys. Val should be joining us soon. Once she's... composed herself." She looked around, glad to see things seemed stable with everyone once more. Her gaze rested on Syd. She gave a warm smile her way. It was good to have another ally on board. "I'm at 6 food and 6 health. I was planning on heading towards the hospital anyways." Gwen frowned at Holly's mention of splitting up Val and herself. "I see the merits of both plans. Are we going to leave someone behind at the watchtower? We have the best chance of ending this thing the more points we can rack up per day. Chances are Sharlot might head this way. So far we shouldn't have to worry about attacks from either Minerva or Sharlot, right? Minerva has kept her silence through most of our interactions and the most she's done is steal some food from me. Sharlot just seems intent on hacking and keeping a move on." Gwen shrugged. "That's all I got for now. Carry on."

Sydney nodded at Gwen and smiled. "Sure, it's not exactly a hardship to be in a group at this particular juncture. To be honest, a weapon wouldn't be a bad thing, I already kind of miss my bow because it definitely reminded me to keep my shoulders up," she joked. After her previous scare amongst the group earlier, things were settling back down and she found herself getting less nervous althoguh she still was a little shaken from the whole ordeal.
That whole thinking-people-were-going-to-kill-you-stress would so give her wrinkle lines by the time the week was up.

Wren re-entered the control room after quite some time, attempting to catch his breath. Luckily, it looked like everyone had been busy planning while he was gone. Everyone knows. Oh god every one knows... Wren knew it was written all over his face, which was turning red. "Ahem. Hi, there, everyone.... So...since we're not sure where Lartius is on food, I think it'd be fair for either Syd or Val to give Cal something to eat today, especially if they're going to either stay here or go to market (both of which we can assume will have food tomorrow). Would that be okay?" (ooc: I'd like to have movement planned before like 9:30 if at all possible. I'm a lame grown-up with a lame grown-up sleep schedule...aside from the random 2am waking-up that has been happening this week lol) So, potential plan seems to be: Wren, Gwen, Cal to Hospital then either stay together or split for day 8 between Depot & Hospital with Eloise possibly Syd, Holly, Val to Market, then either stay together or split for day 8 between Armory & Market with Wallace/Nelson Lartius do whatevs
Alternatives? Objections? Holly looked up at the bright pink Wren trying his hardest to be nonchalant and smiled. "Don't blush too hard, sunshine. You aren't the only one getting some action." Holly listened to Wren review the plans.
"Yes. I think you missed the point I made and you're ignoring what we just heard Vester order. Splitting up beyond these mini-groups and not regrouping is a massive mistake. We do not have any idea what is coming and we cannot afford to spread ourselves so thin without more information - we'll be as scattered, leaderless and uncoordinated as the Peacekeepers have been. We should gather some supplies, do a little damage if we can and reassess."
Holly sighed.
"Wren, for all we know Vester has rigged something that will blow up an entire city block. It could be robot sentries. It could be anything! We can't blindly whittle our groups down into smaller and weaker numbers as we go with no means of communication. We need information, and maybe it's a better idea for us to move out to the hospital and market and stay there for a couple days, then come back. Any tributes we run into can be updated and can move along. But I don't think we need to be super concerned about hacking. Even if we assume all unknowns are Peacekeepers... we outnumber them 2-1. It's unlikely they can gain significant ground. If we continue to pick off even one or two of them, I think we'll be okay."
Holly turned to Gwen, "Don't underestimate Minerva's threat. She knows a lot of what happened here and will likely pass that on to any allies she finds, they'll get more organized if they can. As for Sharlot, she may stick to hacking but I think she's been on her own for a while and knows people have caught on to her, she may look to do some damage too. If anyone runs into them and has a choice between them or another Peacekeeper... I'd prioritize them."
Holly turned to Lartius who seemed to be sitting in a far corner quietly listening. "You could stay here with Sydney or come to the market. Up to you. Has anyone spoken to you about joining us officially? I'd welcome you, you're as good as any member as I see it."
Holly listened to Wren review the plans.

Gwen grinned at Wren's reddened face. "Good to see you two made up. Was worried about traveling with the world's most unstable couple." Gwen nodded at Holly's words. "Could I add that perhaps if the threat is greater than we imagined tomorrow that we might want to meet back up a bit sooner than that?" Gwen glanced at Val, hoping she would speak up soon. "I'm still unsure about not traveling with Val," she mumbled, "but I need to get to the hospital."

Wren listened to Holly and Gwen. "You're probably right. So, ignore the spread, then. Just the first phase. And Gwen, I completely understand not wanting to split, but Cal & I have had to split twice now and we can reassure you, it'll get better. We can't overcrowd a certain area knowing we'll already be joining some allies, especially with the type of skills we have available with our non-hacking members, just because of a relationship. I think our current status takes priority on feelings for the next day or so." Wren leaned over the control desk to grab the disc with he and Cal's song on it. He replaced it with another disc he'd found while scavenging for the baton earlier that day. "I was going to save this for later, but I feel like we could use another boost of morale before we all head out so...here's an anthem for the Accord, if you like it." Soldiering Life(ooc Gwen I also posted that song Cal & I referenced earlier in another thread. It's called Fight for You. You mentioned wanting to hear it.)

Val entered the room a bit later than the rest smoothing out her hair, "Sounds like you've got every thing figured out. I'm a bit sad I missed the planning actually?" "So where am I goi-" Val noticed that Gwen seemed to be frowning a bit which, considering the circumstances of the day, seemed a bit odd, "Wait...what did I miss?" ((OOC: Just so you know... As a player I personally agree with your plan but in character I can't justify leaving Gwen at this point. So...sorry for any upcoming difficulty I cause all of you.))

Gwen instantly smiled upon seeing Val enter the room, but it quickly disappeared as she asked where she was headed. She sighed and looked away, "They think the best course of action is for me to go to the hospital and you to go to the marketplace. Which, begrudgingly makes sense, but," she glanced at Val and looked away again, "selfishly, I don't want to happen."

"I...can't-" She mumbled, "there's no way I can do that..."
She looked around the room growing a bit pale. "They had finally regained solidarity but..."
"I'm sorry," she said at last, "but I'm going to stay close to her."

Cal reentered the room, a small smile glued on his face. We did the weird stuff. When he sees Gwen he stops. He walks up to her, unable to contain the biggest grin he's had these whole games. "I am so happy for you two!!!" Cal loved Gwen in his own way, he won't forget their time during Training Days. But Cal understood what Gwen saw in Val, and that was enough for him. Speaking of Val, he turned his attention to her, still smiling but also feeling sympathetic. "Val, thank you believing in me, and for having taken that extra shot. If there's anything I can do to make up... for it..." The situation was dawning on him, with the plans laid out as is. He had an idea. "I agree with Holly, Wren. I'd prefer us to take our neighboring points, hold them, and have some sort of meeting established at the Watchtower Day 8. It doesn't have to be everyone, but enough that we can exchange information and take on anything that might be lurking here while we're gallivanting at the Market and Hospital."
Cal looked to Wren, taking a deep breath. Its a thought, but he wanted to have the rooms feedback rather than fly off the handlebars.
"Why doesn't Val take my spot at the Hospital? They've been watching each others' backs this whole game, we know they make a good team together. I don't want to leave you Wren, but from what I can recall, we functioned pretty well working at different locations."
He looks to everyone for feedback, looking to weigh the options he suggested. "I agree with Holly, Wren. "Don't think anything of it," Val replied with a smile, "I'm sure you would have done the same for any of us." "How did everyone know already," she thought to herself, "It was like they were wearing a sign..."Val felt instantly selfish when Cal suggested the new plan, "but..." she thought.
She didn't let her mind finish that thought. "For once in her life she should be allowed to be a little selfish right?"
"That would..." she said looking to Cal, "really nice of you."

Sydney shrugged, she didn't really have a dog in this fight. Well, in this case she kind of was the guard dog for rebel hackers but that really was beside the point. Well, so long as we have enough that can hack if we need it, it's not a problem. I just know I'm headed to the Market. The draft by the bunk beds was getting a little out of hand and I could use the change in scenery...and a weapon," she jokingly looked off into the distance and chuckled. "But really, I think I need to be there. Call it intuition." ooc:// i may be able to hop on one more time but i don't leave this job until 11 and I have my deadline for another job immediately afterwards.

Wren's energy drained from his face as Cal came in and suggested an alteration to the plan. Suddenly, the room was spinning and his chest stung with pain as his breathing became quick and shallow. He quickly played the potential scenarios through his mind and he fell back into a chair. He'd just begun to feel comfortable with the direction things were going for once, and now everything was shattering around him.
"No." Wren shook his head. "No. I'm not okay with that change. Cal's INJURED. That's why he's in our grouping. If he can't have a shot at healing, then I don't want one, either. This isn't about love. It's about life. Sending Cal over to Sharlot or Minerva without food and without a chance at morphling, he'd be dead in a day and I could never forgive myself for letting that happen. No. I'm sorry, Val and Gwen, but that's not happening."
"And would someone feed him, please? He's starving."

"Okay, okay," Gwen said, waving her hands. "What if I jump over to the marketplace? I'm not THAT badly injured. As long as one of you two could be a dear and scrounge up and extra something something for me for when we meet back here that should be fine." Gwen could feel the tension in air. Just when things were getting settled.
