Wren led Cal to an operating room. The afternoon sun came in from a high window near the ceiling, and bounced off the observation window, creating a spotlight of sorts on the cold grey floor. "Did you know surgeons sometimes listen to music while they operate? You know how I am with finding sound clips around town..." Wren smiled and turned on the stereo. Under Pressure
"If you listen close, it's kinda perfect." He smiled. He closed his eyes for a moment, considering all his good friends talking of home and wanting out of this war, how this world is falling apart and someone very strong will have to put it back together...he wasn't sure he was strong enough for that. He remembered the crazy night when all the tributes were running in the streets trying to get somewhere safe, recalled how many times he and Cal had given love another chance despite some rough patches -and now they were closer than ever. He reached out a hand to Cal. "This...could be the morphling talking, but would you like to dance? We never did... 'Love dares you to change our way of caring about ourselves...This is our last dance...' It's also our first, but why not make it both?" He tried his best to smile at Cal, holding back tears. Neither of us will live til the end of this...We'll just have to live as fully as we can in our last moments, together...

Cal was a little surprised at Wren's choice of venue, but could see it all come together as he listened to his words. As the music began to play, he listened to the lyrics, taking in Wren's hand as they started dancing free style together.
"Never thought you'd ask, but I'm glad you did."
He had a small smile plastered to his face as they moved around the room. No, they weren't always on the best of terms, but they came through with each other every time. He noticed Wren's tears and was determined to ease him. As the lyrics started to reach their climax, Cal wrapped an arm around Wren, holding onto each other as they jumped in circles together, their feet dipping to the ground at every other beat. Cal was beaming at all of this, being lost in the music and with his love for Wren. As the music slowed and began to quiet, Cal draws Wren in for a deep kiss. The future didn't matter, not while they held each other...
